“Roomy sites with amazing fall colors”

This is a lovely state park with easy access from the highway and big rig friendly. There are 3 separate campgrounds all well maintained (Blue Jay and Double C Equestrian are both primitive areas right on a creek with a waterfall) with Mash Fork being the only modern one. The campground is fairly open but is surrounded by very tall trees and a steep ridge. The electric-only sites in the back are off the main loop. There are a few pull-through sites. I originally booked site #15 thinking it was facing south, but upon arriving I realized the campground map was not oriented with north at the top. Sites closer to the entrance road/registration office have better southern views. They let me move to site #23. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A visit to the main office provided details for exploring some of the trails in the Camp Creek Forest, which is huge with rather steep rocky roads. Sites require some leveling but electric and water service was fine. The dump station was basic but clean. There is WiFi (3 signals for different parts of the campground) but it is totally dependent on how many campers are online - it was highly variable. Boosted AT&T cell service seemed best early and late but frequently disappeared completely. Higher up on the mountain there was a good roaming US Cellular signal.

took a full hookup site for convenience. winter rate was only 25. Super quiet and spacious. so close to I77 but feels like way out in back country. travelers dream. Arrived in dark and easy sign in and picking a space. Bookmarked for our next trip south too.
