The camp host is very sweet (visited beginning of august 2023) and there is some awesome creeks close by within walking distance. We have 2 large dogs and our dogs loved the water and the campground so much. Very well maintained and the spots are fairly spaced apart. We are driving a truck but wouldn’t recommend for large rigs. Service is great too! And super close to Telluride.

Lots of good camp spots. Camp host, Barry is amazing! We brought our dogs (one is dog aggressive) and no one was close enough for her to react. It’s right by a river which is incredible.

Road to Campground has a gravel site. Big machinery that you hear from the campground. Campground is near the river. Dry camping. Stinking port a potties. Saw a Field mouse trying to get in our truck and one did. Good to have a mouse trap. Overall poorly maintained. Wouldn’t stay there again.

This campground is open again. We stayed in site 4 with our 21’ trailer and absolutely loved it. This campground is open again. We stayed in site 4 with our 21’ trailer and absolutely loved it. It says tents or small campers, but the host said he lets people with trailers up to 30’ in because there are a few spots that can accommodate them. This is about 15 minutes from downtown telluride. Come early, we saw many trailers and campers come in to scout the campground, and leave (to find something better, or closer to town I assume) only to come back later to a full campsite.

This is now a Forest Service Campground. They have 15 sites with fire ring and picnic table. Tents or very small campers only. Two porta pots. Nice place in the valley.

This is the closest, and only spot to boondock near Telluride. The maximum length for this free dispersed campground is 22', however we were able to fit in a 24' motorhome + crew cab truck. The campground is really small, and if you're in a rig with solar, there's one suitable spot; site #11, at the back of the campground. The sun finally makes it over the mountain at about 9 AM, then disappears again around 5 PM. Although not a lot, you do get those prime solar hours.
Internet is great, and we were able to stream every night. AT&T faired better than Verizon here.
This campground is quiet, and was never really full. Lots of folks coming in for a night, then leaving. There is a gravel company close to the campground, so during the day you hear the construction trucks, but at night its quiet. Also to note, there are no fires allowed at this campground. The proximity to Telluride is what makes this spot worth returning too. Tons of hiking trails, and the Gondola which runs for free! We took it up to Mountain Village, although it's not a spot worth writing home to in the summer. A heads up, the town is expensive. Like $4 for a donut! We strongly reccommend stocking up on grocery and propane before heading here (there's no local place to fill your rv/trailer propane tanks).
In all, we would stay here again.
There's a free dump outside of the town of Telluride at the Telluride Wastewater Management Facility (it's here on Campendium). We were also able to fill up our water bladder there as well.
