“Good Campground, But Bring Leveling Blocks!”

When it is 108 degrees at home, it will be pleasant here.

Odd campsites in general, few (if any) have level pads. The tenters don’t have it much better. Some sites are downright odd: avoid site 16!

Ideal for tenters, camper vans, teardrops and small trailers. Class A? Go elsewhere.

There is one new-style modern pit toilet that’s fine, there are also the older kind (the ones that stink to high heaven).

Although common knowledge is that campfires are prohibited, they are allowed in this campground.

A great basecamp for the hike up to San Jacinto Peak. Sites vary in quality and size quite a bit. As expected, the tent-only sites tended to have better views and privacy. Some of the sites can accommodate a trailer of up to 17 feet or so, but those sites are few and far between. There's overflow parking about 1/4 mile down the road from the campground. No campground host on duty when we were there, but he came around in the morning to check tags. No running water and no campfires when I was there, but my understanding is that usually running water is available and normally campfires are OK.
