“There is no camping allowed here anymore”

It is a cute place, but after 2 nights here we were told by forest service that camping is not allowed here anymore and hasn't been allowed for a few years. Please do not try and camp here, there is a campground just south of here called Odessa Campground where it's free too. This is just a boat launch ramp now with parking..... also, the mosquitoes are HORRIBLE!

“Cute, but tiny campground”

Malone Springs is not much more than a boat launch site, but it does have space for a few campers. There really are only 3 sites for RVs, two of which can handle good sized rigs. Turn around is not a problem as there is a large turn around at the boat ramp. Very quite and cute, but I would expect to have some boat traffic here during the warmer months.

The boat launch is the start of a nice 10-mile (round trip) canoe/kayak trail through the marsh lands. It will also bring you to the Rocky Point Resort which has a restaurant and general store if you like boating in for breakfast. Be aware, you will need a permit to put any kayak in the water (can be purchased at the Resort).
