I'm not a fishing person but if you are this would be the place for you. A lot of road noise and the place fills up with every one here to use the boat launch.

We were tent camping, and found the perfect site right against the river with a picnic table and fire ring. $18 because we didn't have a Montana fishing license, but it is a bit cheaper if you do. It was quiet enough, there is some noise from the road but it died down at night.

First, make sure all your stuff is locked down in your trailer before you get off the road to come here! There is a big bump when you turn off the highway and the road down to the camping area is very rough. Then drive right past the sign that states "trailers not recommended" (despite the fish and wildlife website saying there is a 30 foot max length). Once you get down the hill, the road is much better and the sites are great, especially the ones that back right up to the river. There is quite a bit of road noise, but it dies down after dark. The entire campground was spotless and the pit was clean. Our site was not level, but was manageable and we had a picnic table and fire ring. The cell service was great. You will be only 15 minutes or so from Chico Hot Springs, so I highly recommend a soak and dinner there!

Lovely small campground right off 89 midway between Cool town of Livingston and the Chico Hot Springs Resort (dining, thermal pools open to non guests as well, year round).
We stayed off-season so there was no charge but it's 12 during. Great views of the Yellowstone River and Absaroka mountains, amazing stars. Magical Montana ambiance. Friendly fellow campers, mostly local. Clean bathroom. Very level gravel sites-only trick is a somewhat steep road down to campground, but not a big deal. Some road noise but the CG is down a ravine so road feels further away than it is. Very good AT&T signal.
