I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #4, an E/W, BI site for $27/night. The roads and site were asphalt. The roads were a bit narrow, but the park has tried to moderate that by adding gravel along the sides in several places and along some sites as well. Many of the sites are sloped. #4 is one of the more level ones and I still needed boards under the driver’s side. Tip: hug the passenger side of the asphalt as there is a big drop off at the back corner of the driver’s side. The water hookup was provided by the park running hoses everywhere so if you are coming in early spring or late fall, call ahead to see if they will have water hookups. #4 has partial shade while the back loop is totally shaded. This site has a huge “front yard” and is near the bathhouse which was shabby but clean. The park is small so there wasn’t much foot traffic to the bathhouse. There was a picnic table and grill, but no fire pit. Connectivity: 3 bars 5G with Verizon, no wifi, 308.6 mbps download speed, only 3-4 OTA channels. It was a quiet campground with no noticeable road noise. The dump station is right along the road so I was partially blocking the road while I cleaned out my tanks. I didn’t find a large grocery store nearby so come stocked. It was 45-60 minutes to Delaware Water Gap which was wonderful for hiking. And there were some nice hikes near the campground. I would have given a 4 rating if I was just reviewing this site, but the lack of level sites overall took a star off the overall campground rating. I really enjoyed my time here and would come back.

We camped in November after the water at the sites was shut off, but we were able to fill our fresh water at the restrooms. Mostly level, asphalt parking spots. Weldon Rd is a smaller paved road with slight hills and curves. We had no problems getting here with our 34 ft fifth wheel.

This is a nice quiet wooded campground. We had an electric and sewer site. There was a dump station on site. This is a very small campground that we will definitely return to since my husband works close by. The bathhouse was older but clean.

Although the water spigots were shared between sites, they provide hose caddies that should reach most RV hookups. No sewer hookup, but there is a convenient dump station. There are no fire rings in the RV section, only raised grills. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekend did get busy. AT&T had ok data connection with 1-2 bars most of the time. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy. OTA TV was very inconsistent using an external omni antenna. There is no WiFi. There is a very nice network of trails in the reservation, most if not all were leashed dog friendly. There is a very nice restaurant, Stone Water, less than 10 miles away and is right on lake Hopatcong.

The road around the campground is paved as are the individual sites (see pics), relatively level, and have electric (50 amp, 30 amp, 110v) and water at each site. New picnic tables and BBQ grills are also provided.
Activities focus around hiking, but there is a baseball field and a mowed grass field for any activity. There is also a dump station on site (available to non campers for$20).
Great campground, highly recommend.

You’ll need to hook your own hose to the site hose at lower numbered sites. $22 rate is for out of state camping, they also offer a discounted weekly rate, but 14 day limit is not flexible. 16 days between stays. Clean, showers and flush toilets, lots of hiking trails nearby. Very popular, you’ll need a reservation for weekends. Not all sites are very level, 18 seemed to be the least level. Website has length and width of asphalt pad. Grill is sometimes located far from site, not sure why.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is a Morris County Park. The county has set up 18 RV sites in the park with electric and water hookups. The clean bathrooms and showers help to save water so you don't have to dump your tanks until you are ready to leave. While there are no other amenities at the park, the location makes it a great place to stay. Within an hour's drive of the park, you have mountain hiking trails, historic locations like Morristown and lakes for water sports. Since I have family roots in the area, I also had access to historic archives and libraries. A few of the sites are sloped, so bring leveling blocks. The county reservation app is a great tool and I suggest referring to their site descriptions for the length and width of each site as they vary greatly.
