Overall Rating

This new campground just opened this past spring (2022). It's a nice start and has a lot of potential but is priced a little high for just the basics. That said, it has lots of improvements yet to make. We camped there in Oct-Nov so there were very few other campers except on some weekends and the office was not manned. Roads and sites are gravel/sand combinations, some pull-thru, some back-in, some level and some require a lot of blocking to level. Hookups are new and most are easy but some sewer require extra length hose and leveling. Water is good with good pressure. Some spots have large overhead trees with good shade in the summer but falling nuts in the fall. Restrooms/showers (3) are new and very nice and there is a laundry with one machine. There is a nice playground and a dog area. There is a nice nature trail and a small man made lake with a walking path around it. Fishing/swimming/kayaking are allowed but water quality is questionable. There is no wifi at this time and cell service (Verizon) has 1-2 bars and switches between 4 & 5 G. There is ota television service. The highway noise is noticeable and there are minimal services in town. It's about a 15 minute drive to New Bern.
Overall this is a nice place to stay in the area but there are no nearby attractions. Road and site surfaces need improvement and leveling. The addition of wifi would be helpful. We would stay here again.
