The camp bathhouse is old and outdated but the showers are nice and they have plenty of hot water.

This campground was actually nicer than we expected, but we'd read some pretty mixed things about it so that's probably why. Also, our site 17 was excellent, with plenty of space between our neighbors, room for our 42' motorhome, tow car, and driveway space left over. Some other sites (mostly the shorter sites) looked much less nice though... closer together, no grass, camping area shared with visitor center walkway. We took the bypass route 332 to Sawpit Road, to Blockhouse Road, and parked along the side of the road while checking in. It worked out perfectly. The campground WiFi worked surprisingly well during the day, but slowed to a crawl in the evenings. Our AT&T had strong roaming LTE signal and worked quite well. There's a nice multi-use walking/biking trail with water access nearby that we used for longer dog walks. We stayed 3 nights which apparently is considered a long stay. We would definitely stay here again, as it was great being able to walk the entire town right from the campground, as long as you're OK with some hill climbing!

This is an interesting little park situated on the edge of Lunenburg. If you have a bigger rig, I definitely recommend coming in by 332, that bypasses the town. The streets in town are quite narrow with many being one way and the occasional stop sign at a very steep angle. Big rigs are in the upper loop, which will be the first that you see. If you drive past and up to the visitor center to check in, you will have to loop around a park, which might not be easy for some rigs.
The upper loop is for the larger rigs, with many of the sites having sewer. We had an E/W site, 30 amp, that we backed in to. Our friends site was just past the check in booth, with their living space, literally, the interior road of the campground. They put up a couple barriers beside their RV to avoid any possible problems.
Our site was pretty tight, especially when we had neighbors, even when they were small. We had a picnic table, but it was debatable whether it was ours or the neighbors, and we lost the use of it a couple of days. It was weird, but we had more living space inside and they needed the table, so we didn't worry about it. We had trees behind us, but there weren't many in the rest of the upper campground. The restrooms were controlled by passcode and my husband said they were clean, but we didn't use them.
The upper campground was empty most of our stay, but filled up when a caravan came in, taking all of the sewer sites. It was quite the transformation! Fortunately they were friendly and not late night partiers. The upper campground road is a single loop and one of the caravaners got assigned a site that was actually part of the road, to the right just inside the entrance, blocking the loop. We were planning on driving through what was now his site to access the dump station when we left, but had to back up to the dump station since the loop was blocked.
The sites are gravel, with grass around the sites in the middle of the loop. Access for big rigs wasn't bad, but was easier when we arrived and the campground was mostly empty.
The park is walking distance to town, but be aware that town is down some very steep hills. Walking back up was fairly strenuous for a flat lander like me. We drove into town, but it gets very crowded on weekends and parking was extremely difficult to find. If you don't mind the hills, I highly recommend walking.
Based on our experience in the upper loop, I wouldn't call this campground a destination, the town is the destination. But, the location is great and there is a lot to do, so if I ever wanted to visit Lunenburg again, I would definitely stay here again.
