“Accessible Lakeside Boondocking”
Reviewed Apr 23, 2018
Self-contained camping is currently permitted on the pull-offs adjacent to Loyd's Lake. Big rig accessible, free, and views to write your momma about.
Decently quiet, although there is some OHV action, fishermen, and the occasional vehicle who may pull up close to your rig to get a view of the little lake below.
No obstacles for solar. Easy enough to get decently level in the pull through area we plopped down in. There is also another area a few hundred feet up (the paved) road that appeared to be ready to host a rig.
There is a trail circling the lake that runs for ~2 miles. There are some vault toilets along that trail.
Law enforcement/Dept of Natural Resources drives by about once a day to make sure all is well.
Verizon signal was solid, and connection was zippy.
Expect this spot will be posted 'no camping' as soon as folks abuse it (be classy! not trashy!), but for now, it's pretty sweet.
