“Beautiful, quiet camping near Lake Dillon”

Reviewed Oct 13, 2017

Overall Rating

We loved this campground, and our spot overall. There is no view of the Lake from the campground. It is tucked up behind the mountain, so it’s quiet. We had tons of space behind our spot that opened up and led to a wooded area (perfect for our hammock), and a rock ridge. There were quite a few small, short hikes/walks from our spot that were perfect for our small boys. The only complaint we had about our spot was that the fire ring and picnic area was raised above the parking pad, and it was slippery dirt. There were some rocks around that we tried to make steps with, as the boys kept sliding down and we had to offer a hand every time they needed to go up or down. We drove around a few other campgrounds closer to the lake, and found some sites at Prospector Campground and Peak One that we’d probably enjoy more, but we really did enjoy our Fourth of July weekend here. We love the parade in Frisco, and the fireworks set off from the marina.

“Great electric only campground near Lake Dillon”

Reviewed Sep 02, 2017

Overall Rating

Summertime in the Dillon area can get crowded and Lowry is a great electric only campground in the area. You can book ahead of time online or try your luck with first come first serve sites upon arrival. Water fill up is next door at Prospector Campground and dump station is down the road for $5/dump. Campground is close to bike path connecting Dillon, Brek, Silverthorne and Frisco. Hiking options are endless, highly recommended home base campground in the area.
