“Very quiet near season end”

Reviewed Oct 03, 2018

Overall Rating

We stayed the end of September just before the campground was to close. Because of that there was not water available. There were about a half dozen other campers. Close to Dillon, Frisco (one of our favorite spots), and easy day trips out from here. Somewhat typical forest service campground with limited amenities, gravel roads an... more

“Excellent campground very close to all the fabulous locations”

Reviewed Sep 26, 2018

We stayed here (we chose this CG because we wanted an electric hook up). The CG host was friendly and very helpful. The CG was clean and quiet. If you walk along the tent road and then continue up the hill you can get a great view of Lake Dillon in about 10 minutes walk. (note, the nightly price paid was the price we paid for four n... more

We did not stay, but did a drive though.

The turn off road is slightly up hill with washboards to the campsite, 1/2 mile or so. It was tight in there for a rig our size, sites seemed on the small side and not very level. It was a tired looking National Forest Campground.

“Beautiful, quiet camping near Lake Dillon”

Reviewed Oct 13, 2017

Overall Rating

We loved this campground, and our spot overall. There is no view of the Lake from the campground. It is tucked up behind the mountain, so it’s quiet. We had tons of space behind our spot that opened up and led to a wooded area (perfect for our hammock), and a rock ridge. There were quite a few small, short hikes/walks from our spot tha... more

“Great electric only campground near Lake Dillon”

Reviewed Sep 02, 2017

Overall Rating

Summertime in the Dillon area can get crowded and Lowry is a great electric only campground in the area. You can book ahead of time online or try your luck with first come first serve sites upon arrival. Water fill up is next door at Prospector Campground and dump station is down the road for $5/dump. Campground is close to bike path c... more
