Lower Prince Creek is actually better than Upper Prince Creek Campground which looked like a cow pasture. I have nothing against cows but I don't particularly like having them next to me when I want to be out in nature.
Had it not been for the fact that we needed a place to stop at on our way home, we would not have stayed here. The notice at the entrance said that the cows were permitted to be in the area from May 16th until June 26th. Perhaps it will be nicer later in the summer and in the fall.

We had been planning to stay at Rifle Falls but ran into road closures. This was a great backup plan. Tons of trails, well-maintained sites, cute free-range cows wandering around. Chipmunks will eat your food if you leave it out. Clean toilet. Would stay here again.

Only a handful of sites but the proximity to highly underrated Prince Creek trail system makes this place special. Vault toilet

Plenty of spaces available on a Monday during fall foliage season. You will find a clean pit toilet, sturdy concrete camp tables, and an intact metal fire ring.
The campsite has a view of the valley below facing sunset. There are no fees for this site like pictures of old had stated. I’m posting an updated campground board picture.

It was really peaceful and the view was outstanding. The bathroom was a little gross, but not terrible for a free campsite! The road to get there is dirt, but it was an easy drive - might get slippery after a lot of rain though. We could also hear a bit of road noise before dark, but just crickets once the sun went down. :) There’s also a ton of bike trails nearby - we’ll definitely be back and will be sure to bring our bikes next time!

We came up the road and it seemed like both Upper and Lower Prince Creek Campground were full. However, we kept driving and found another beautiful designated camping spot at the top of the hill with GORGEOUS views!

We stayed here during the week in the fall. We were the only campers. Toilet facilities were still maintained and the entire campground was very well maintained. There was a fee station charging $15 per night but no way to pay.

This campsite was recently built on BLM land in 2017 or '18 along with the Upper Prince Creek campground just a couple minutes up the road. It used to be completely dispersed camping in the area but now with these two sites you get the same great location but with a pit toilet, picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad that are all maintained. I was there with my 20' Winnebago Drop trailer and had no problem fitting in site number 2. I've also stayed at the group site with no problems. Site 1 is designated handicapped.
In the area there is fishing, hiking, mountain biking (there's a trail that goes right by the site), horseback riding, the list goes on! It's a great location.
The site is currently free but be aware it may not be in the future. There are postings that specify the campsites will begin charging in 2019, and they have a pay station, but there is nothing stating the nightly fee and there are no envelopes to fill out and place money in.
