“Wonderful Holiday Weekend Stay!”

Super enjoyable Memorial Day weekend stay! We got in Friday morning around 10:30am and as far as I could tell got the 2nd to last spot (spot 12, on the upper loop) so definitely arrive early on a weekend, especially a holiday weekend.
The views were simply amazing being surrounded by buttes. It was super windy at times but that helped keep the camper (and us!) cool. Once the sun went down it cooled down quickly and was super comfortable sleeping weather. If you have one of the spots closer to the river I imagine it’s super nice to go to go sleep listening to the river. I had one bar on AT&T and periodically got texts but couldn’t send.
You’re a little far from Moab (~30 minutes) but I enjoyed it as we stayed away from some of the chaos. You’re also not right on 128 like the other spots closer to Moab (goose island, etc), which was nice as a lighter sleeper. There is a small shop at one of the resorts like 3-4 miles down 128 but expect to pay a premium for anything there. It’s best to just bring all your supplies and water beforehand.
The only real negative would be if you had one of the spots by the outdoor pit toilets. They smelled pretty rough.
I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a little more quiet BLM camping. Even though it’s a bit of a drive to town and the parks, the drive down 128 is stunning even after several years of visiting.

“Rafters in Spring can get a bit unruly”

We arrived on a Tuesday in May and there were only a few spots available. But being that the average high temperature in May is 82°, it's easy to see why it was almost full. The views are amazing. There is room for very large rigs end of the road has a bit of washboard but it is maintained. Everything makes a loop so there's no chance of having to back out. There are Vault toilets and trash dumpsters but no other amenities. Fees are $20 per night and our first come first serve only. Because people do a lot of activities in this area and use their vehicles for those activities many Camp spots appear to be empty but have a tag on them showing dates that are current. Just be sure to get out and read because one of the rafters forced someone out of a spot in the middle of the night because there was a tag on that spot.
