We stayed at Whitefish Campground. As stated there are two campgrounds. Nice and quiet. There are not hookups but there is a vault toilet. Water may be available at the pond campground. Nice, quiet family camping trip. No complaints. We only had two bars of 3G on Verizon that only seemed to work for analog/not data. But sometimes that’s ok. This app seems to think that only 4G and 5G exist.

There are two campgrounds. - Olnes Pond where we stayed and Whitefish Campground which is more suited to smaller RV’s and tents.
The gravel road in from the highway is less than a mile long, wide and fairly bumpy. There are only 10 sites at the campground and they all have a pond view. We thought that #4, 9 & 10 were the nicest. Sites 2 & 3 would probably fit a big rig but the literature suggests that 38’ is the maximum.
There was only 2-3 campsites occupied on both the nights that we stayed during the week. There are ATV trails, fishing and it is close to Fairbanks so it is likelier busier on the weekend.
There is no firewood for sale but you can gather deadwood from the forested area. The park staff left a note on our RV letting us know when the fire ban was lifted - which was very thoughtful.
Cell phone service was hit and miss. Sometimes we had service but then it would stop.
We used this location to do hikes on both the Elliott and Steese Highways.
