Love's RV Stop

I wasn’t sure about a “truck stop” but it was exactly where we wanted to stop and it was easy on, easy off. I called to ask if it was separate from the truck area and was told it was. I was pleased to see the RV camping area was in its own protected area and secured with a gate. I booked my spot, opened the gate with the code and hooked up. You could hear the traffic from the highway but it wasn’t a big deal. It was clean and the parking spots are concrete so no worries about leveling.

This review is from the point of view of an overnight or short-stay campground (CG) versus a destination CG. The CG was easy to get to as it was right off the interstate and adjacent to the Loves main facility. We did the online check-in, but a nice gentleman met us for a formal check-in at their gate and office/shower/laundry facility. We then proceeded to pull through site 43 with full hookups. We paid $42 for the night with a military discount, plus $2.70 in transient tax and a $3.00 booking fee. The CG is fairly new, as our RV GPS didn’t show this Loves address. The campsites are decently spaced, and all the utilities worked fine. As this is a new CG, there are no trees, so no problem with satellite, plus there are plenty of OTA channels. We got 3 bars on Verizon. The water pressure is also good at around 50 psi. There are little barbecue pavilions and a community fire pit. We were pleasantly surprised at the adequately sized fenced dog area with separate large and small dog areas. There is a concrete sidewalk that leads you out of the CG over to the Loves facility. As this RV Park is right off the interstate, you get highway noise. 


I've stayed at Love's RV Hookups before but this is my first RV Stop. In love speak in RV. Stop is a RV park which is adjacent to a regular Love's travel center. I made my reservation online which was quick and easy. When I got to the entrance there was a gate and you needed to punch in a code. The code is supposed to be in your reservation but I couldn't find it. I called the number provided and they eventually connected to me to somebody who is able to give me the code. They also said I could go to the main travel center and get the code there.

Other than all the large cement pads of which many were pulled through all of the drive areas were made of pea gravel. There was a pickleball court, a big dog park washrooms laundry. Lots of trash bins and free park Wi-Fi. There were quite a few big rigs that pulled in during the evening and it was pleasant enough. This is just a convenient stop when in route through Central Illinois headed to Missouri.
