Campground was very quiet. Only 3 other campers. Most sites were clean and level. Restroom were very clean.

We didn’t stay here on 6-4-22 but drove through to see what the current situation is. The FS has a sign posted saying you can stay but at your own risk. Currently there is no coat to stay. It appears that the campground had a forest fire 2-3 years ago (just guessing from the appearance) and the FS is in the process of doing repairs and... more
We didn’t stay here on 6-4-22 but drove through to see what the current situation is. The FS has a sign posted saying you can stay but at your own risk. Currently there is no coat to stay. It appears that the campground had a forest fire 2-3 years ago (just guessing from the appearance) and the FS is in the process of doing repairs and renovation. Most of the trees have been cut down and are being removed. It is still needing lots of work and the posting indicates the FS is planning on major work starting June of 2022. The toilets are being maintained but I cannot say if water is available. Hopefully they will get the renovations done soon as the location is nice near the Loup Loup Ski Area and is in a nice forest.

We based here to explore Twisp and Winthrop, as it was inexpensive ($6/ night for pass holders). This is a Forest Service campground (not vendor managed), so the grounds are less kept up than most of the forest service campgrounds - the sites were a bit overgrown with the wild grasses and there was a bit of trash around. We based here to explore Twisp and Winthrop, as it was inexpensive ($6/ night for pass holders). This is a Forest Service campground (not vendor managed), so the grounds are less kept up than most of the forest service campgrounds - the sites were a bit overgrown with the wild grasses and there was a bit of trash around. We never saw the campground host. The sites were decent sized - our trailer plus truck fit easily (~43 feet total). It was very lightly used, with plenty of spaces available in late July. There is zero cell coverage. However, it was beautiful and very quiet. As we were leaving, we heard a pack of coyotes very close by.

Closed for maintenance Park Ranger estimates reopen late July-August 2021. You should check before driving back to campsite from highway
