We stayed in site 24. It is close to site 25 (these two sites are, I think, the closest together). Sites 15 and 18 are kind of pull through to the side of the loop road but this place is quiet so they would be fine. Site 2 is, I believe, the nicest site. We drove around and rated each of the electric sites in terms of level (1-5) and privacy (1-5). These are our ratings: #2 - 5 ,5; #15 3, 3; #18 3,3; #24 5, 3; #25 5, 3. Just our opinion.
The bathrooms are clean. Dump was on the way out. The campground is quiet (except for a some nitwit from Texas who decided to rearrange his truck storage at 6AM on our last day - fortunately it was the day we were leaving so no biggie).
Close (15min max) to the Branch Ave. metro parking (about $9 per day) and we had a 3-day metro pass that cost $30 each. I would definitely stay here again. Very convenient, clean and quiet. The senior rate is very reasonable (it's reasonable at twice the price which is the non-senior rate).

If you need a haircut, Gifted Hands Salon was amazing and two miles away. No. 1 China was delicious. Did not use metro but to have the option is great. Easy 13 mi drive up Branch road to Pennsylvania Ave - pops out behind US Capital (lots of lights. 35 min). Easy drive to Old Town - try some of the Mt Vernon bike trail. Easy drive to Fort Washington - take a picnic. Rocking chairs at visitors center afford great view and picnic spot. It is at first disconcerting that there is no check in on arrival, no campground host. It’s only online registration - references to a paper permit on the website are no longer required. Park staff do patrol and maintain but there is no official “presence” here. Would come again in a heartbeat.

Our site, 24, was a paved back in that was just not quite long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is mostly very good for a rural park. There are some sites that are side by side. Many sites have a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was great so long as the site you are in is level, even and long enough for your rig. Most sites would be unacceptable for us due to the extreme slope and length. FYI There are no sites that would accommodate a forty footer.
There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did find many OTA channels. Satellite will be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean and up to date. Clearly the building is quite new.
There is a disclaimer on the book in web site that claims there is NO POWER. This is not true. There is 30 amp service at a number of sites. Sites 1, 2, 15. 18. 24 and 25 are powered. Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 18, 19, 24 and 25 are reasonably level.
There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an excellent base for visiting Washington DC. A fifteen minute drive to the Branch Avenue Metro Station (free parking) gives you access to most of the attractions. The subway is clean, safe and economical. We paid $13.00 per night (seniors rate) and we feel we received excellent value. We will be back if in the area again.

I recommend surge protector here. Not many level sites. Only two Verizon bars and barely any streaming ability. $13 price is seniors only discount. Price is $23 with electric. Lots of poison ivy all around the pad. Pad is small, width wise can only fit the vehicle (20ft class b rv), have to walk in the dirt. Bathrooms being renovated, porta potties available. Dump station available outside of camp loop. Trash was only collected once during the week.

Neither employee I spoke with on the phone (county information, park person) sounded enthusiastic about giving any information about the park. "Senior" rate is show on website as $13 vs $23 regular rate with electric. The county person offered that age 60 qualifies, but didn't sound real sure of that. There don't seem to be any other options to camp in the Clinton, Md area, so I'll pass on the job....maybe a blessing in disguise?

We arrived at 3pm Sunday night and found our site. There is no information as to where the camp office is to get our permit. And yes you need a permit to camp here. To get the permit you have to go across the street to the main park and follow the road back to the office. On Sat and Sundays they close at 2pm. So we could not get our permit . About 9 PM the park police came though and sat outside our site. When we approached them they said no permit to gotta leave. When we explained the office was closed when we arrived they said you can't stay here. Just so you know the park police will not give you a permit to camp only the office which opened at 0730 the next morning. The park police did let us stay the night with the promise we would be at the office the next morning when they opened. They do patrol the area to keep moochers from camping and leaving without paying.I was in this park back in 2005 and it has changed a little since then. The sites are not all level. Site 1 is pretty close and deep. Each one has water and electric but no sewer. The sewer dump is on the road on the way in. So dump when you enter not exit. There is a picnic table at each site and the few pull through are good for a small to mid size RV. There is a group camp area at the back for tents. The bath house is not in the greatest shape but hey it's a city park not a resort. Men's has a stall and urinal, 2 sinks and Shower. Same in womans except for the urinal. Sites are always open. Keep the park patrols number on hand. Locals do walk there dogs through here and sometimes cars come in during the night from the local area. But we have not had any problems. If you want rustic this is it. Our rate was $23 per night.

PG county is overall a really crappy place to be so it's no surprise the one area campground is subpar. We had to be in this area for work otherwise we would never be here. Pros: it's super cheap. It's very quiet and was mostly empty while we stayed. Water and electric hookups plus dump station. Small playground in loop for our kids. Across the street from a much larger park with multiple playgrounds and skatepark.
Cons: it's very poorly maintained. Trash in many campsites (cigarette cartons). Maintenance just drives by trash and pays no attention. Bath house is in desperate need of repair. Location is not great. If you have to be in this area this campground will suffice especially for the price but otherwise I would avoid. Most sites are not level but some big pull through sites have plenty of room.
