Lotts Island Campground & Marina

A little crowded but everyone has a military connection so quiet and polite neighbors. The Spanish Moss is beautiful and the host keeps it spotless. I do miss that it didn't have a bathhouse but the set up is easy and each spot has a dump station. It is pretty close to the City is Savannah so there is a ton of stuff to do there.

Lotts lsland Hunter Army Airfield campground is for military only (active duty/veterans). It is a small area nestled in the trees. After you come through the gate, show your military I.D., turn left and it's right there. It's mostly sandy roads and sites with some patches of weeds around. Tall trees provide some shade. There's a concrete patio with a large, round stationary picnic table on it. Nearby is a large brick fire ring and a charcoal grill. Site #4 is a pull-thru. It was easy to make reservations. Someone answered the phone each time and assigned us a site. There's no place to check-in when you arrive, you just drive to your site. I didn't see any amenities such as a bathhouse but we don't need those anyway. It was $25/nt for FHU. The hook-ups have 50amp & 30amp, sewer, and 2 water faucets (which was really nice for flushing our tanks before we left). All hook-ups were well placed. There is some road noise and aircraft flying overhead but it wasn't too bad inside. OTA channels were ok. Sites have A LOT of room between other campers and our site had plenty of room lengthwise. We have a 32 ft trailer and a truck for towing and we didn't even have to unhook for the night. It was that level. We would definitely camp here again.
