No frills, but clean and level gravel sites with full hookups. Close to the freeway but not too close. Arrived after hours so did not have bathroom code. Pull-thru site was long enough to leave 32' fifth wheel hooked on to truck. Easy overnight for a trip up I-5. Nice sunset view, frog sounds at night, and birds in the morning!

Not pretty but, wow, very level spots, well designed waste dump, electric boxes with lights to help with late arrivals. Did not use baths/showers. Fast food places only but they, and gas, are very close by. Owners are growing trees (soaker hoses…very dry there) which will add needed ambience. More campgrounds like this are needed near expressways. Noise was not a problem.

That is pretty much all to expect for a road weary traveler. Pretty basic situation. Hookups and a quiet place to rest. The goats were entertaining. Looks like mostly longterm residents working construction, etc. Bleak but what we needed for the night.

We arrived around 7pm and office was closed. Our site info was taped to the door. Place was just fine/adequate. Kind of run down. Pool was open but full of bugs. Upon further inspection pool filter had way too many dead’s frogs and even more bugs in it. Scary that we only noticed this AFTER going swimming 😕

No attendant overnight. No Wi-Fi. Not noisy despite being close to the freeway. Adequate for what it is. It looks like they are trying to plant hedges and make it nicer. Pull throughs make it easy for an overnight. I Dont have KOA membership so it’s pricey for what it is.

Great overnight spot; several fuel stations across the street; I believe most spots are pull thru.
I only wish the dog park was about 10x larger.

Great overnight stay. With our KOA discount the cost was $57. Very clean obviously well maintained. We were given a pull through so did not have to unhook. Staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for one night while making our way down California. The campground, which used to be a KOA, is located about a half-mile west of I-5, near a number of business that cater to the numerous 18-wheelers that make a brief or overnight stop in Lost Hills. We booked our site via credit card over the phone, so even though we arrived during business hours we didn’t need to enter the office: a campground map with our name, site number, and all the pass codes was taped to the office door.
Almost all of the sites are pull-through sites. Our site was in the front row of the current campground: a new section of campsites was under construction across from our row of sites (the campground map had that area of the campground simply labeled “overflow camping”, but there were definitely hookups at those sites). Our site was pretty large for a (former) KOA site: it was more than long enough to fit our 37-foot RV and truck, and it was wide enough that we could have parked the truck next to the camper with room to spare. With the exception of a large mat of astroturf near the front right area of the site, the entire site surface was packed dirt. Each site in our row had a large tree providing some shade in the front right corner.
Most of the amenities are located near or inside the office building. The office and store occupy the front part of the building, while the laundry room, showers, and bathrooms occupy the rest. The propane refill station sits in front of the building, while the kids park, swimming pool, and horseshoe pit are behind the building. Located beyond those amenities was a large dog park that was still undergoing construction (there was no gate and the fencing wasn’t completed). Fortunately there was a small dog run in the new section of campsites that we could use.
Given our one-night stay, I only did one speed test with my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna. Although the numbers were terrible - 0.4Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up - I was able to stream TV for a little while, until the buffering became too frequent as the evening wore on. The one speed test I did with my AT&T phone showed 58Mbps down and 15 up.
If we ever have to make another overnight stop in Lost Hills, CA again, we would stay here.
UPDATE (5/15/22): We stayed here overnight again, and felt the I need to make a few corrections:
1) The large fenced area they were still building last time turned out to be a nice tent camping area, not a dog park. So the small dog run is still the only off-leash area, and it is the smallest dog run at any KOA we've stayed at.
2) The mat of astroturf we had at the front of our site last time is gone.
3) The Verizon cell strength was much better than last time: we didn't have the best video quality, but we could stream TV with some buffering. The numbers were still on the low side, though: 6Mbps down and 5 up.
