They give you a map of the place, along with local restaurants. The hosts are very nice. The pool was closed, which was a bummer, but laundry was open (takes quarters, no change machine).
They offer free wifi and have ATT/Verizon coverage. My husband was able to work remotely from his secure VPN just fine.

I feel like this was the best site in the campground, with nobody blocking our view! Great location in Alpine. We drove up to Fort Davis a couple times. Make sure you stop by the Drugstore and have the chicken fried steak .. just wow! Oh and you HAVE TO stop by the Davis Mountains Nut Co., pecans that will change your life! Seriously amazing! Take the drive down to Marfa to enjoy the SPECTACULAR night sky. We were blown away with the amount of things to do in West Texas, and would come back in a heartbeat!

The park staff were super friendly. Each site has a large pine tree that provides some shade in the afternoon. The park wifi was excellent. Even the cable worked. This is a quiet park in general with lots of late afternoon shade available.

Site was level, people were friendly, and beautiful location! This Park is in an excellent location to give you access to Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis, and Balmorhea. Cell service was good on AT&T and Verizon. Nice little dog park as well.

No complaints. Nice park. Can’t speak to restrooms because we brought our own. Good Wifi and cable. Park is well maintained. We washed our RV there on their pad for $10.00. Byo soap and everything but they do supply the hose and spray nozzle.

Bathrooms and laundry are great too. Only con is there is quite a distance to the facilities unless spaces on two rows are free of rv’s. Otherwise you are walking through a campsite and a good move. Bring a bike.

The entire park has beautiful pine trees that make the park feel like you are in truly in the pines. There was good OTA TV channels and there was cable available. Cell signal was 3 bars LTE and we had no problem using it. Our WiFi had great strength. Half of the park had seasonals, but they had to follow strict guidelines to ensure there was no clutter around their RVs. There is a swimming pool to enjoy, but no hot tub. This is a great stop if you are going to go south to explore Big Bend National Park.

Sites were very rough gravel, but pretty level, if there is one thing they can improve on, it's the gravel, they need a few trucks of finer gravel . The site had good power and water. The Bathrooms and showers were super clean, and must have been remodeled somewhat recently. There is a RV Wash in the Back (concrete pad and water) All the staff we meet were very nice and helpful. It's just a short ride to Downtown, where there are good places to stock up on groceries, a well stocked hardware store, a few food trucks and best of all close to the Big Bend Brewery! Also a nice quick ride to Marfa (we saw the lights).

We stayed two nights at Lost Alaskan after nearly 3 weeks dry camping around Big Bend. All RV sites are FHU with a choice of 30 or 50 amp and there is a tenting area. Sites are adequately spaced with trees to provide some shade, but no privacy between sites. The staff are very helpful and the facilities are immaculate. Fairly large laundry facility (6 washers/6 dryers) and everything worked! There is a playground, pool, nice pet area and a place to wash your rig (additional fee).
The campground is about 2 miles out of town, but it’s a doable walk or easy bike ride. We walked into Alpine twice for coffee at Plaine and donuts from Baker’s Dozen and enjoyed the Big Bend Museum at Sul Ross University. Alpine has groceries, gas, restaurants, shops, galleries and a hardware store.
The $34 quoted was a daily rate, we got a 15% PA discount so paid $28.95/night. We stayed at an RV park in Marathon before going into Big Bend and would highly recommend the Lost Alaskan in Alpine over Marathon – much better access to services, quieter, and overall nicer RV park.
We had 3 bars of Verizon 4G unboosted. The park also has free wifi which worked fairly well.
