Sites are gravel, but level. Staff is super friendly, which added to our stay. Nice dog park, too.
Visitor Center in town is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, worth stopping by for suggestions on things to do and places to eat. Lowes grocery store is clean, new, well-stocked, and nearby.

Second time staying here. Friendly staff, easy access, pet friendly, clean facilities. Our only problem was very low water pressure. We had to fill our tank and use the water pump to get enough pressure for the tankless water heater to kick on. Site C8. This may not be a problem at other sites and wasn’t an issue on our last trip. ... more

Park was full for spring break but was quite and had a safe friendly feel. Great sky views and easy access to nearby towns- used this as our base camp to visit Big Bend, Ft. Davis, Marathon and Marfa. We didn’t use the RV wash station, but others had signed up at the office and it looked like a good setup with long concrete pad and hoses.
Evening walk around the park with beautiful night skies and wild turkeys gobbling, later in the evening heard hoot owls. Very cool place, would had been 5 stars except for the water pressure issue. Will stay here again

“Super friendly staff and great RV/truck wash station”
Reviewed 2/7/2023
We didn’t stay here, but on our way out of Big Bend NP, we stopped here to use their RV and truck wash since there weren’t any in Big Bend area. It was $5 for truck and $10 for truck and RV and it was well worth it! One of the workers stopped by and chatted for a bit. It looks like a nice park and they were very welcoming!

This place is awesome. Site are large and mostly pull thru’s. Bathrooms were spotless and well as the laundry which was $1.50 for washer and dryer. Well kept with nice picnic table and fire/pit BBQ at every site. Everything worked well and the managers were fabulous. If you need to be in Alpine, this, would be a destination park.

Stayed for a couple of days trying to get some relief from the heat at Big Bend NP. Power & water was good. We were able to navigate our motorhome with out much difficulty. We would stay here again. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Motorhome.

We came here to Rockhound for 2 days so we saw little of the park the first 3 days except for the showers but the rest of the week was great. As mentioned above this is a quiet, dark sky park. We went to bed early because of the moon but got up every morning at 3 to watch Orion chase the stars across the sky!
There is a tent camping area where you can grill( didn’t bring ours) and wash dishes ( who wants to get their rig dirty).
Don’t know about TV as we don’t have one and cell/WiFi was great.
We don’t often end up in RV parks but since we are in Texas….
