“Great time over Labor Day Weekend ”
We went up that way on a whim Friday after work. We were going to camp along the South Fork of the Boise River. However, it was starting to get dark and dirt roads in the middle of the back country are no place to be experimenting with a trailer.
The site was a large primitive open area with partial shade. It had a large rock fire ring.
You are about 20+ miles down Blacks Creek Road. Which is all dirt with steep climbs and descents. The road is wide, but if you aren’t use to that kind of thing... there will be a pucker factor.
It’s the kind if place that you don’t want to forget anything. It isn’t too far out of Prairie, Idaho. But if you know Idaho... it’s a hamlet with no paved roads. There is a small little market about 5 miles away called the Y-Stop. They do have ice cream and beer. Wouldn’t count on too much but emergency supplies there.
It’s the kind of place you will want your generator if it is a hot weekend. You’re just under 5,000’ and it can be pretty warm.
We have Verizon and were able to get a weak signal by the Y-Stop. Enough to make texts. I wouldn’t count on much else.
This was just a great getaway weekend for my Wife and I.
The Sigrist’s would stay here again
