Overall Rating
We stayed in mid July during the week. The dirt road is washboarded with a few potholes, but overall in good shape and easily accessible to all vehicles and rvs. The campsite was mostly full with maybe 3 sites opening up each day. Mostly fishermen, hikers, and ATVs populating the surrounding area. Lola creek is lovely. A very sweet little beach was within walking distance to our site. The forest surrounding the campsite burned years ago but tall pines remained at the campsite and provided nice shade. Clean, flat sites. Many pads were big enough for larger RVs. Bathrooms very clean.
We drove a rough forest road 20 miles in our Subaru to Josephus Lake and did a hike. It was an absolutely gorgeous spot. If you don’t mind a long rough road, check it out.
The mosquitoes were a bit much back at the campground and eventually we left as our kids were done with the biting.
