“Older campground, close to trails galore, town and cute little stream”

Overall Rating

I did not stay here, but I used the nearby trails and happened to take photos for Campendium. This is a lesser known campground in Logan Canyon. It is up Right Hand Fork (a side road off of Logan Canyon HWY 89), near an LDS (Mormon) girls camp which is private property. This location is great in that is closer to the city of Logan, UT (about 12 miles) and that it is super close to a big network of trails for horseback riding, dirt biking, mountain biking and hiking all from the campground without driving any further. (Cowley Canyon, Ricks Canyon, Steel Hollow, Mud Flats, Willow Flats, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Ephraim's Grave if you want to search). There are no hookups. Willow Creek flows right near and sometimes next to some of the sites year round. There is a foot bridge that takes you to two walk in sites. No pull through, all back in sites. Picnic tables are kind of old brown paint and peeling. There is a lot of tree branch debris in the sites. It would probably be a cooler site for a hot summer night with the forest, shaded hillside and cool little mountain stream flowing nearby. Very suitable for a passenger car. May be nosier in the summer as it is close to main 4 wheeling roads and traffic heading to the official trailhead.
