$38.50 A Night. Yes our site was un level but because we carry blocks with us, it was super easy to level our trailer. We only stayed here as an overnight along the way to our next destination so we didn’t get to explore it all that much.

No alcohol is allowed, as apparently is the case in all PA state parks. But we were asked literally three times when we checked in about it. It was easier to cross the Canadian border. It was pretty obnoxious. But it did cut down on loud holiday weekend crowds. We didn’t use the bath houses, but they looked pretty dated.

This is a fantastic campground for families or seniors. Restrooms were mostly clean. But concrete floors always wet. Campsite 10 was tight had to thread the trailer through 3 trees but hey it is the Appalachian mountains. Will stay again in A different site.

The lake and nearby stream offer fishing, and there are boats to rent or you can bring your own. The camp store has sundry items as well as delicious ice cream from a local creamery. There are a couple of miles of hiking trails with a few trails offering some steeper grades. We normally see park rangers making rounds throughout the evening, but this year we only saw them the day we were leaving. Despite the lack of ranger presence, our fellow campers were quiet and respectful. The only downside for RV/TT campers is the tightness of the sites. All the sites are wooded and some of them can be a very tight fit. We had no issues on this trip, but I did see a 5th wheel in site 061 that took about 15 minutes to back in, as there was only about a foot of clearance between his 5th wheel and a tree on the shore side of his rig. You will also need plenty of leveling blocks as most of the sites are on a grade. But even with all that, we still go back every year.

The lake and surrounding rolling hills are beautiful. It’s too bad the campground has been neglected for years. This was our first experience with the Pennsylvania State Park system and it was abysmal. Once in the state park, the signage to even find one’s way to the CG was nonexistent. Note: The campground is heavily wooded with very little direct sun. Once at our campsite, we had to ask someone to move their car – they had just arbitrarily parked in our site. We backed into our site and didn’t unhook our rig since we were passing through and spending one night. Good thing because leveling our rig would have been almost impossible. We were on at least a 4-5% grade. The picnic table in our site had not seen sun or any TLC for approximately 50 years and it was as heavy as a tank. The bathrooms were heavily used, filthy and hadn’t been cleaned in days. This is all such a shame because one can see that the campground probably used to be beautiful, with a good amount of space between each site. We didn’t check out the showers after seeing how gross the bathrooms were. The campground had an adequate dump facility, which we used. We will not stay at this campground again.

Although we arrived late in the day, there were several walk up spots still available for a midweek stay. We chose a spot with lake views and in the morning we were rewarded with lovely sights. Our spot (35) backed up to the paved lake trail and were able to enjoy bike rides and walks around the lake. This was a pet friendly site and the pup enjoyed her time here, especially seeing the resident ducks that freely roamed nearby occupied sites looking for handouts. The bathrooms and showers are showing signs of age and could be cleaner, but were acceptable. Getting water was bit more challenging as water spigots were not abundant in the campground. Checkout time was generous at 3 pm, which afforded us a leisurely morning to enjoy our brief stay. Would enjoy returning for a longer visit.

This campground is quite nice. Some sites have electric hookups but water is only available at spigots throughout the campground. There is a paved path around the lake which is also part of a larger 3 1/2 mile trail. The longer trail includes a walk through the woods but beware some parts are not well marked. My site took me a lot of effort to get level (or close to) but it was near the lake so worth the trouble. My Verizon signal was just okay but my AT&T was very good. The bathroom near me was antiquated and made me grateful for the tiny but functional one in my RV. The nights were quiet but for nature sounds. In fact, I was rudely awakened by a very loud owl in the middle of the night! I'd never heard one so near and loud. I believe I was in a pet free loop so I guess that made it quieter. The lake is small but easily accessible for boating and or fishing. I never had any contact with either the host or park staff so cannot comment on that. There is a camp store that looked pretty well stocked.

Lake was small but had 2 boat ramps and easy access with a public beach area. Sites were a decent size and not on top of each other but had some grade to them as they sloped towards the lake. Bath houses were average, nothing special with a wash station that was nice. I would stay again but try to get a site along the lake. Only 2 loops of campground allowed pets so that limited our choices since we travel with 2 dogs.

If you are looking to get away for some solitude this is probably not the place, at least on the weekends. Lots of families and kids. there is a beach area for swimming at the lake and it is really loud all day. If you are camping with a group then this place is great. Google maps gave us a strange route to get here through some back roads. This place is right off the 61 and seemed like a much easier drive.

The campground is beside a lake that is rated to have the best sunrise in the state. The entire area is heavily wooded and there is a nice paved trail around the lake to walk and bike. The lake also has a small beach for swimming and a boat launch. Our site as all were heavily shaded in the woods with nice spacing between sites. It is very serene and peaceful. The site is dirt and the roads are paved but a bit tight to navigate and back in. The biggest downside is that we could not get level on our site even using several leveling blocks so we could not put our slides out. Even with that drawback, given the spectacular location, we would stay here again!
