Driving thru ID in a day.. looking for a spot by the river for a night and this place delivered!

Handful of white water rafters camping along this pullout, they
we’re friendly and didn’t mind our herd of dogs. a couple other tow trailers that folks would leave parked during the day and they returned at night.

Also if a USFS restroom, which was great for no hookups or nearby dump station ;-) Handful of nearby hot springs, too. worth checking out. If this place is full, there’s endless pullouts along the highway.

Overall Rating

I'll start with the not so perfect, there is absolutely no cell service for 30 minutes to the west and an hour to the east. There is also some road noise as route 12 is used a lot by tractor trailers and this is merely a rest area loop off of the highway. Now for the good... You have no cell service, haha! But seriously, camp right beside the Lochsa for free and have a campfire(if there are no burn bans in place), you will have a very scenic camping experience and the noise of the river will have you sleeping like a baby.
