We traveled into the very small local towns of Purvis and Lumberton, MS. Very nice country folks in both towns. Mr. Bill sells great sweet potatoes, creole tomatoes, & honey from his P/U truck in Lumberton. Very nice guy and he loves Jesus. We drove to the back of the park and looked at other sites. Sites 18 to 23 looked like nice sites to consider. Every evening God showed off his great handiwork in the skies above the lake and trees. Certain GPS directions will send you on long scenic routes to get there. The Waze App seemed most accurate for directions. Cell coverage was not good. We'll probably be back since it's only a 2 hr. drive from New Orleans.

This was a great one night overnight for us. But, I could see staying longer. It was a quiet weekday, so when we checked in, the agent sent us to a better sight. Number 11. It was a nice deck (many sites have wooden decks) with a dock! Site was quiet level and most looked that way. It would have been a nice topper to have laundry and recycling. No such luck. Stay at a site near the check in building just inside the gate. The further loop is very wooded and seemed buggy. No real natural light. One be negative is that there are geese and ducks all over and due to people feeding them, they can hover. To the point where our dog got sick probably eating their waste and ended up in the vet ER and ill for 6 days. Yes, a mess. But, it is nature. Just be careful and watch your dogs. Would definitely stay again.

A very woodsy campground with plenty of space between each site.
We discovered a nature trail this time but it was very overgrown and left my kids itching like crazy!
The bathrooms are old and grungy but my kids and I still showered in them and didn’t feel gross about it like other places we’ve been.
Clean campground.
Looking forward to coming back for Mardi Gras, Easter, and Halloween!
This site flooded during a heavy rainstorm.
The closest bathrooms to this site were closed so we had to drive to the bathrooms

We enjoyed our first experience at LBC. The beaches and playgrounds were great.
Site 21 was very angled, we were never able to get our rig level. We only used the bathrooms once on a walk, but they needed attention.
We will return, next time we will get a flat, level site.

Beautiful older campground. We stayed in the newer section that was large gravel and a challenge to get level. However, we were lakeside and had beautiful sunsets for 3 days. Older section is more spacious. And has more shade.
Yes, we would stay again if in the area.

With rooftop antenna you can get decent internet using att. Verizon isn’t great and I couldn’t get T-Mobile to connect.

The bait store was closed the entire time we were there (two days), but otherwise we enjoyed paddleboarding, walking, and bike riding. It was a very quiet park with friendly folks staying all around. Lots of family activity happening considering schools were out when we visited. Definitely will stay here again.

I love this place! It’s close enough for a weekend getaway and fairly secluded. The campground is clean and very well maintained. Most sites have a water view. My site was just accredits for the Pierre which gave me an extra special view and a pier to go meditate or do yoga on.

“Poor customer service!”
noted 6/15/2021
I tried to stay at this campground tonite. When I arrived at 6pm the gate was closed even though the hours said it was open until 7pm. There was a number to call so I did. The woman told me if I didn’t have a reservation, I couldn’t come in. I was told they closed at 5pm in spite of what their sign said and I couldn’t get a site now. Who closes at 5pm? I can understand in the winter when it is dark at 5, but not in the summer. None of this was noted on their website. It all just seemed like a poor way to run a business based on customer service. I was quite disappointed!
