The roads are a little washed out. My 9 foot tall, 22 foot long campervan did fine, but wouldnt recommend in my corolla. I subtracted one star due to the difficulty finding the sites, but we did come in after dark. Also, I stayed in site 2 because the previous reviewer said it was level, but I found for van camping sites 3 or 4 would have been easier and more level. However, it was nice and quiet and dark, which is exactly what we were looking for. I have to admit we didn't spend the days at the site. The gravel road was well maintained, but I would not enter with a large RV or trailer.

This is a little known gem hidden deep in Hiawatha National Forest! The campground has five spacious and wooded sites nestled next to a cute little lake. Most sites have a private trail down to the lake, which would be perfect for kayaking or fishing (no access for motorized boats). The sites have plenty of room, and could probably fit motorhomes or trailers up to 26 ft. Our site was level, but others clearly would require a few blocks to get even. The scenery was amazing and watching the sunset over lake was icing on the cake. Sites are supposed to be reserved ahead of time on recreation.gov.
