You're likely not here for the experience of the RV park itself. And the location has so much to offer. The ferry right there to get into NYC (you can even take your bike on it), or catch the train a block away. Lots of dining within walking distance. Fantastic views around the corner. And endless scenic biking and walking. Oh, and if you lean your head just right and squint you can see the Statue of Liberty.
We only stayed two nights, and we exhausted ourselves trying to make the most of the experience.
We found the park to be exactly what we were expecting - no frills, great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Worth every penny for the experience.
Didn't test the cellular signal or Wi-Fi - we got online enough to get what we needed done, but we were mostly out biking, dining and adventuring. After all, one of the greatest cities in the world is out your doorstep.

Definitely packed in. Positives. Great city access. Across Hudson River to Liberty park. View of Statue of Liberty. Laundry facility and showers/bathrooms. Electricity and water. Dump station. Security 24/7. Felt very safe. Staff are all helpful. Yes pricey! Travel with dogs. There is a path along marina side with grass. WiFi included.

When you take a shower, you end up more sweaty than when you started. All they want here is to make money on their great location and view of the Statue of Liberty but they put absolutely nothing into the place. The entire site is run down and you feel like you are parked in the middle of a junk yard.

The bathrooms were secure, clean, and the showers were free. There is only one dump station, and if leaving mid-morning expect to wait in line. The lot is guarded 24/7 and the security guards were very alert to any vehicle coming into the area so we never felt unsafe.
I reserved a spot but was moved because of a larger RV. The check-in clerk did allow me to look at the new spot, and decide if I liked it and worked with me to move yet again.
Mass transit (PATH train, NJ Transit, and ferries) is very accessible and the RV Park and is walking distance from many restaurants and convenience stores.

Even though the campground is dirty, noisy, and cramped It does make a great location to explore lots of areas. You can easily walk to areas or hop public transport anywhere you want to go. Plus you can see the Statue of Liberty from your RV.

The access to Manhatten was amazing! We loaded our Metro Card with $40 each for 4 days and had a fare or 2 left over! Easy to buy & load your card at the Grove St station.
Spent an afternoon bike riding around the waterfront & downtown areas of Jersey City. Lots to see & do only blocks from the park! Tons of great restaurants & boutiques. We also rode our bikes thru the back end of the park & along the marina paths right to Liberty State Park. Locked our bikes up & got tickets tickets right there for the ferry that toured Ellis Island & the Statue. Was so easy! Hopped on our bikes after it was done & rode 15 min back to Liberty Harbor. 10+ convenience.
Yes. The sites are tight. Yes. You might hear your neighbour while they are INSIDE their RV & yes, the overhead parking lot lights may beam into your RV at night. Wifi is also not great. All tolerable, as long as you remind yourself that the access to so much .... while paying so little (relatively speaking) .... & at such a well run RV Park .... is totally worth it. I have travelled & stayed in NYC almost 20 times. It was a gamechanger for me to have my own home on wheels to come back to after a day of exploring & only have to pay ONE QUARTER of the price of a hotel room or AirBNB. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed leaving Manhattan’s hustle & bustle & returning to the relative quiet of Liberty Harbor. Often came back late at night & always felt safe. We WILL be back. BTW ... the staff are total professionals. Helpful & knowledgeable.

Had to laugh at the person who said bathrooms were not clean. No problem when we were there but on the other hand what idiot would go to a bath house and stand in a shower without flops on anyway. Campers know to wear footware to keep from getting germs.

When checking out, if the office is closed, we must sign a sheet near the exit. That's what we did when we left. But a few weeks later, when we received our credit card statement, we were charged $ 40 for apparently failing to sign the check out sheet. WE HAVE SIGNED IT. These people are just thieves.

Our family was scheduled to spend 5 nights at Liberty Harbor RV the last week of March 2020. Due to the pandemic- National Emergency, we canceled the reservation. We understand that they have a no refund policy. However, during a national emergency, this policy should be revised. First of all, they are very expensive for a “parking lot” type of campground. Secondly, they require half of your entire stay as a deposit. Then, they have a no refund policy on the deposit. We requested to reschedule next year to prevent the loss of our money. They offered to reschedule only during 2020. We explained that it was impossible for us to come at another time in 2020, but we could come in 2021. We asked for them to have some compassion during this National Emergency and make an exception. They refused to work with us on dates in 2021 and refused to refund our money. There were 10 other campgrounds on our journey up the east coast. ALL other campgrounds were understanding of the situation and gave refunds on our deposits. We were very sad to cancel our trip, and the lack of compassion from these people made it even worse. We do not recommend this RV Park!!!
