We visited during Christmas. Expensive parking lot with electricity, not water at all on the sites. Bathrooms are disgusting. Nobody cleaned the bathroom for 3 consecutive days. The WiFi signal very poor. Never again

They’re all business at first (welcome to The Big City, just do what they tell u to do, they have a process!!), but then staff warms up like any down home warm and welcoming campground. Liberty Harbor is what it is: a paved parking lot with no trees or landscaping, only electric hookups. Bath House is very clean, with fresh coat of white paint. Security overall is like everyone says, SECURE. I never felt insecure at campground or anywhere in Jersey City or NYC. Easy 20-min walk to PATH train, or 2-minute walk to NY Ferry. I will stay here often in the future to visit son now living in Manhattan. Highly recommend this unique urban RV camping experience.

Melanie at the RV check in was very friendly and a wealth of knowledge on how to get around using ferries and the PATH system. You can see the Statue of Liberty from there. There is a ferry right on site at the harbor that comes and goes to lower Manhattan. Despite the fact it is expensive and just a parking lot, everything else makes it so worth staying there. I’d stay again if I’m ever back to this part of the country. Also - the other campers were very friendly. And it was pretty quiet at night. Appreciated the 24-hour security patrols.

The lady who checked us in was very nice and gave us the 411 on everything we needed to know and things we didn’t realize we needed to know. The lot is right next to a marina and you can see the Statue of Liberty from the lot. At night time it’s very quiet and the massive residential towers around you make you feel like you are in the heart of the city, but in a good way and without the noise. This lot is conveniently located in Jersey City and has a great community vibe with shopping and restaurants in walking distance. It’s not an RV resort or park, it’s a parking lot with hookups and a dump station. However, if you appreciate it for what it is, you will not be disappointed. #Concrete Jungle

Getting around: Easy & close to NYC via NJ PATH train (10m easy walk, can use Metro card just as on NYC subways) or driving Holland tunnel (very close, just up the road). During times of traffic just take the train, Uber to the train station if you don't want to walk a few mins.
Opinion & experience: Can see statue of liberty from front office, marina, bar / restaurant right across parking lot, coffee shop 2 blocks up. $150/nt due to weekend/holiday, but still worth every penny to be this near NYC and still have all your stuff with you. 24hr security ensuring those who come in are supposed to, zero security concerns, was great in that regard.
Noise: it's the city and you have a bar/restaurant nearby. Site: gravel but in good shape. Power at my pedestal and a few others didn't work, office had no issue with me moving to another open spot -- very pleasant and easy to work with.

The park was very easy to get to. Follow the directions on the RV Park’s Web Site. There is pavement all the way including the interior roads. Signage is adequate although not needed. You can’t go any further following their directions.. Check in was efficient and friendly and very informative. Melanie, the lady that works in the office is the best tour guide we have ever met. She will direct you to where ever you need to go! The rules are fairly basic. The most important one is letting them know you are checking out. Not hard to do. Sign the clip board that sits right outside the check in window. If you don’t check out you will be charged $40.00 via your on file credit card.
Our site, A04 was a gravel back in that was just long enough for our Coach with our Towed snuggled beside it. Services (30/50 amp and water only) were to the left rear. Each site has no other amenities. Our site was flat but seriously sloped to the front. Our front wheels were off of the ground when our auto levelers finished. Overall the park was acceptable for what it was designed to do. It is not a resort. There is nothing to do inside of the park. There is no entertainment what so ever. Your neighbors will be real close but I doubt you will see much of them. The only reason you are here is to have a safe place to sleep while you visit NYC. There is very good security 24/7.
We could never get the park included wifi to connect but there were other “free” wifi connections available. Verizon was mostly one bar, two on occasion. There is no Cable TV but we found plenty OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult as there are no trees to block a signal We did not use the washrooms or showers or laundromat but we checked and found them clean.
There is very close access to ferry services that will take you close to Wall Street etc. The Grove Subway Station is just an easy ten minute walk. From there, the 33rd Street Train will take you within very easy walking distance to The Empire State Bldg, Times Square, Macy’s etc. It is about a ten minute drive to the Ferry that will take you to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
There are is a Surf/Tiki Bar just across the parking lot but we did not go there. A Pharmacy is within walking distance. A grocery store is just a short drive away. We found this park to be a great base to see NYC. We paid $135.00 per night plus tax. ($579.26 for four nights) and we feel we received fair value. When you consider how convenient access to the NYC tourist attractions are it’s pretty reasonable. We will be back if in the area again.

Our family was scheduled to spend 5 nights at Liberty Harbor RV the last week of March 2020. Due to the pandemic- National Emergency, we canceled the reservation. We understand that they have a no refund policy. However, during a national emergency, this policy should be revised. First of all, they are very expensive for a “parking lot” type of campground. Secondly, they require half of your entire stay as a deposit. Then, they have a no refund policy on the deposit. We requested to reschedule next year to prevent the loss of our money. They offered to reschedule only during 2020. We explained that it was impossible for us to come at another time in 2020, but we could come in 2021. We asked for them to have some compassion during this National Emergency and make an exception. They refused to work with us on dates in 2021 and refused to refund our money. There were 10 other campgrounds on our journey up the east coast. ALL other campgrounds were understanding of the situation and gave refunds on our deposits. We were very sad to cancel our trip, and the lack of compassion from these people made it even worse. We do not recommend this RV Park!!!
