This place was a tight fit for our coach. From pulling into the campground to maneuvering into the site, it was all a challenge. We made reservations on-line, but satellite views and maps didn’t really provide the reality needed to make a sound decision regarding our choice. The site wasn’t a bit level and compensating for this took a while to figure out. Our Campground host was pleasant and mentioned that the site wasn’t really meant for a rig of our size, but did mention there were larger rigs that had successfully parked in the spot. Once we got situated, all was good. Leigh Creek was right at our back, the canyon walls were lit up and overall it was a pleasant scene. There was also a USFS fish hatchery a short distance up the road.

There was a fish hatchery up the road but it was closed by the time we got there. Campsite was private with a fire ring and picnic table. Gravel road in was in great shape. We drove our 18 ft trailer in and backed into site no problem.

Leigh Creek Campground is located on the old Hwy 16 directly alongside Ten Sleep Creek. There are 11 mostly riverfront sites. The new highway is about 100' above. Traffic noise is minimal with just the occasional loud vehicle. There are dispersed Forest Service campsites along the river before the campground which look perfect for tenters. The campground is in a canyon with majestic views of the Bighorn Mountains rising on either side. We didn't see any bighorn sheep but did see a mule deer in the campground. There's a fish hatchery up the road so fishing is probably pretty good although we didn't try it.
Sites 1-6 are to the right down a gravel spur which has a loop turnaround. These sites are best suited for smaller rigs or tenters. Sites 7-8 are right at the entrance and were designed for tenters with a short walk to their picnic table and fire pit. Site 9 is the host site. Sites 10 and 11 are on the gravel spur to the left and are the longest sites with ~35 foot driveways however there's no turnaround on that spur . To access them a trailer needs to pull in to the campground and turn right until straightened out then back in. We had no problem parking or leveling our 30' 5er in site 11.
Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and grill platform. Most sites have level areas for tents and short trails that lead down to the river.
The campground has a working water pump (summer) and vault toilet in good condition. There are trash bins but they're locked. The host told us to leave our trash in front of our site in the morning and she'd dump it for us. The campground is open year round but the water is shut off and trash service suspended in the off-season. The price listed was with our Golden Age Pass.
We approached the campground from Ten Sleep. We didn't see a sign identifying the turn off to the campground on the main highway. As we drove by we just caught a glimpse of a sign showing camping along the old highway. We had to go up to a turnout and turn around. There was no campground sign from the other direction either. The only sign referenced the fish hatchery. You just need to know to turn off at the fish hatchery sign then you'll immediately see the sign to the campground.
Being in a canyon 11 miles out of Ten Sleep we had no cell service (Verizon).
