We wanted to stop in Grande Prairie to fuel up, do laundry, and get some groceries. Plus we wanted to check out the dinosaur museum in Wembley. We happened upon the sign for this place on route 43, turned down the well-maintained dirt packed road and finally came upon it just a few km down. Just a few spots, dry camping. But you don't need to be a Legion member! Self serve but there are caretakers onsite. $15 for Legion members, $20 for nonmembers. Put cash in envelope at shed door. Lovely location, quiet. We have a 30' TT and fit nicely. Larger rigs could get in here if no one else is here. We were the only ones for 2 nights. Proceeds are donated to local youth sports and other charities.
RivetingJourney would stay here again

We happened upon this place from state erected sigh saying.. LEGION CAMPGROUND. 3 KM.. ( 2 miles) So we turned down the paved road which turned into a nice gravel road till we happened to the chain link fence and a blue sigh LEGION PARK.. (almost did not see it)
there is a Legion price of $15 per night and non legion of $20.
you put the money in envolpe on the building on the right you see when coming in the driveway.. and yes there is a house done there as well.. Paul and Pat the care takers.
The caretaker said there is usually a larger white sign on the fence but had not gotten it up yet...:)
there are no hookups but fire pits and picnic tables.. there is play equpitmen for the kids if needed.. the area is quiet and great views of the area and of town..
there is room for all but the largest 5th and Class A's.. (judge for your self)
Sites are grass/weeds and somewhat level side to side and front to back. there are picnic table to use but not set in any fasion we found.. we just picked a spot and backed in.. Paul came up later to greet us and chat.. :)
It just outside of town, 8 miles , off Hwy 43 like heading to Dawson Creek.. if on the way to or from Alaska :) so a great one or two or more night stop if needed.
Tmobile from the states if roaming on TELUS and service was good here.. Our cricket ATT hotspot was a dud in NO SERVICE in canada despite what "they" said.
most of the time its wide open but they do get groups at time that take the whole place so it might be worth a call to see..
