This COE park is comfortable, quiet and clean. The bathrooms were clean with great water pressure. All sites are paved with a table, fire ring and most have the curved wind screens. This was a convenient place to sightsee the area and make a trip to Pierre for an appointment. We went to the Museums in Pierre and Chamberlain plus the Dignity Stature. We had full Verizon and Dish satellite service. The park employees were very nice when we saw them. This park was very walkable.

In essence the full prime rib on bun for 2/3 cost of entree.

The campground is "off the beaten path " , but a nice place for a few nights rest & relaxation. Sites are electric only like most COE parks.. Spacious sites with shade, fire rings and well kept, clean facilities. Access for boats above and below the dam.

Pulled in here on a Saturday in late July with no expectation of finding anything open but there were two cancellations and we grabbed one of them. The campground is big but the spots are spacious, many of them pull-throughs. The largest rigs will have to detach anything in tow, but our 41' total length fit in just fine. Management is pleasant and competent. In late July it was packed but was still pleasant. Power in most spots so no generator noise.
Power only is included in the very reasonable price but there is a dump station and multiple spigots for clean water. No T-mobile; two bars of Verizon, two bars of AT&T -- enough for us to stream video even with our low-priority router.

Left Tailrace is about 20 minutes off I-90 so is definitely off the beaten track. However, we were looking for a campground that was scenic, and away from I-90 road noise and this fit the bill! The campground is almost all grass and is well maintained. We had a nice "end" site with electricity. It was level and not too close to others. It was not hot in late August when we were there, but the sun shades over the picnic tables would be welcome on a hot day. There is a boat ramp onto the Missouri River at the campground and beautiful views of the dam and the river. This was a very nice campground for a terrific price, and the views of the river were a treat. Recommend!

With the Big Bend Dam right there, it’s a marvel to see. Many sites such as mine has great views of the water. A popular location for boating and fishing. I’m going to have to return when I can stay longer. Sites have 30/50 amp hookups, filtering and picnic table. There is also a large play area for kids and family.

Otherwise, if the park was at full capacity, we would have been bumper to bumper with another RV. The park is clean and spacious (except for A&B sites). The campground host patrol the park very often. We did heed the warnings from other reviewers about the water and didn't even use it. If you are going to relax, this is a great park! If you are looking for things to do, this is not it - there is nothing around the area.

The campground is about an hour and half to the badlands and 30 minutes to Chamberlain. The closest Walmart is about an hour away which we did once. There are other options in Chamberlain for shopping.

Don't fill your tank without running a lot of water out first but that is no guarantee it will be clean. Showed the brown water to host and they said that was something they couldn't fix. After filling and emptying 9 times am still getting some sand. Could the Fraking be the cause???

Price reflects NPS Senior Pass for 50% off fees for 50 elec amp site. We had the end slot next to the water so enjoyed a large green space and awesome water views. Bathrooms/showers clean and pleasant. Many campers enjoying good fishing in the area. Not much for services nearby: some gas and convenience store items, as well as little else to do except enjoy the spot. Both Verizon and AT&T were good. Camp hosts were helpful coming to our door to warn us about an upcoming storm. Great place just to chill out.
