Leavis Flat Campground

We arrived at the campground around 5:30pm on a Friday and were surprised to be the only campers there! We checked out each spot and chose spot #3 for its accessibility to the creek and overall location. The spot was beautiful, but I was shocked at the garbage littered there. I spent the first 30 minutes picking up trash, cigarette butts, broken glass, cans, dog poop... that was disappointing. But, once it was clean, it was truly beautiful. By 10pm, 3 additional campers arrived and started filing up other spots. Saturday afternoon was busy with lots of day campers arriving to enjoy the creek. Most gave us privacy and didn’t overcrowd our campsite or portion of creek in front of it. The pit toilets slowly became fuller, smellier, and dirtier, but not a big deal.

Overall, I’d recommend this camping spot. The creek is refreshing... and provided all visitors do their part to keep it clean, it’s beautiful.

Last week of June and it was only me and a couple car-camping at the far end of the campground. Pit toilet was clean and fine. No potable water on site, but the rushing creek just a few steps away and a purifier can take care of that.
If a babbling brook keeps you up, then the creek may bug you. For me, dipping my feet in there was rejuvenating and the sound of the water lulled me to sleep.

Really peaceful spot. Will definitely stay again.
