This is a functional city park just north of Leadore. While it is a humble comfortable spot, they are currently making improvements. The cell service (AT&T) is good and they have WiFi but it is hit or miss currently. The bathrooms and showers are clean, not fancy. There is a $5 separate fee for using the showers and you need a code. If the camp host is not available the folks in town at the Stage Stop Junction can provide the code. The sites are on mowed grass and you will probably need to do some minor leveling. It’s a small town and they are trying to make improvements with the funds they have.
The park host (Mark as of this posting) is very helpful and friendly and keeps the park clean. There were about 8 RV sites and various sites for tents and just recently they have added about 14 more RV sites and 8 of those just had their inspection yesterday and now have power and water and are big rig friendly and large There is currently now dump site here.
Currently, RV sites are $20 and soon the sites with power and water will be $35 a night. Tents are $10 and showers $5.
Highway 28 runs just beside the park but traffic is minimal at night and didn’t bother me at all. It is a beautiful area and peaceful. The town does have a small airport but I have not heard any activity since being here (4 nights). A small creek runs on the back side of the park adding to the tranquility. You can usually get fuel at the Stage Stop Junction, otherwise next closest would be in Dubois, ID or Salmon. I’m here to support a hiker on the Continental Divide Trail at Bannock Pass east of town. I would definitely stay here again and was happy to support the park and their improvements.

We stopped here after several days boondocking in the National Forest near Stanley. We needed showers and cell service. The cell service was good 2-4 bars but still a little slow, The showers were hot (an extra $5/person) but the showers and restrooms looked like they had not been swept or cleaned for a long time. The host said they were going to be shut off in a few days but he would unlock them for us. The restrooms were also kept locked “to keep non-campers from using them.” There was plenty of noise from the highway, but it did diminish some after 9pm. Lots of trash everywhere including a dirty diaper in the grassy area between the sites and the restrooms.
Sites were not numbered...mostly it was a grassy area with a few trees where some tables had been set out. There were a few fire rings. Any size rig could be accommodated, if you didn’t care about a firering or table.
Decent view of the mountains to the west and a beautiful sunset.

Beautiful city park with a friendly and helpful host. Mike is a great person to have on a location like this, he is very knowledgeable about the area and willing to share that knowledge.

Mike the camphost keeps the grounds in great condition. He is friendly and helped make the stay enjoyable. There is water, flush toilets, showers and is just a few miles from a somewhat well stocked but expensive convenience store and gas including diesel. The sites are first come, first served. Most have grass and shade trees, a bonus in high desert mountains. The traffic quiets at night. The only downside is that the nearest town for a grocery store is Salmon, 45 miles away.
