We had a great time at Lazy Rock in Mattawa.
We usually stay in provincial parks, but this private campground appealed to us and we had a great time. The sites are smaller than we’re used to, but there were many positives:
Room service: They have a room service feature that delivers orders within 30 minutes. Need more ice? Firewood? An ice cream bar? You order on their site and they deliver it to your site. Loved it.
Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi throughout the park was the best we’ve seen in a long while. You could work using the Wi-Fi, it’s that good.
The views: Beautiful. The lake is so beautiful and the natural growth between the sites and the lake looked nice. Also, every day you can see a train pass on the other side of the lake. Very cool.
The docks: You can rent boats and use them on the lake. Or you can go swimming in the water off the docks or walk in via the beach. We swam in the lake and put our feet in off the docks - very enjoyable. You can also fish off one of the docks if you’d like.
Mattawa didn’t have a ton to offer and there’s not a lot to do in the surrounding area, but we were content to spend time in the park and around the lake. We really enjoyed it and recommend Lazy Rock to others!

A wonderful campground right on a small tranquil lake. Everything you need for short or longer stays and extra services available through their unique "Room Service" option. Jon and Charisma take exceptional care of their campground, the surrounding nature and their customers. One of the caretakers Kevin is always about delivering firewood and is at the ready for a friendly story or even a magic trick. The people are as great as this amazing location.
Two-way pull through sites, back-in sites and some private unserviced tent sites have almost everyone covered. Dump station and honey wagon service, free hot showers and clean washrooms, free wi-fi and you're all set for a relaxing stay. Only a few minutes from Mattawa in case you forgot or run out of something.
An incredible stay overall!

This campground was number one in our book!! We came from Arizona. We have been to many campgrounds on our journey, this one was by far the best!! It’s very very clean, well taking care of and relaxing. We couldn’t ask for a better place to stop. I wish all campgrounds were like this one!!

“The WORST customer support we experienced ever!”
noted 7/2/2021
The worst customer support we experienced ever. Imagine you planned for vacation, arranged your days off, and packed your stuff to move to this campsite. You receive a message that there is a discrepancy in guest information they cancel your reservation without your permission!!! This the story that happened to us and, not only they did not try to resolve the issue they canceled the reservation and applied for a partial refund. We called multiple times but no one answered the phone and our call directed to the full voicemail box!!!
Do not trust this campground because you may lose your vacation and time-off by an irresponsible person that does not care about and your family's time.
