Only 1 out of 4 water wells are producing and the single well has particles. Otherwise a typical, clean forest service campground

All spots marked “reserved” but campground host was helpful, gave us a spot that had passed its 24 hour grace period. Firewood for sale (either $6/$8 a bundle, can’t remember). Pit toilet with hand sanitizer dispenser on the wall. Rained a ton while we were there, but it was a very pretty campground with the river close by. Biggest bummer was 0 cell crevice (t-mobile), but that is expected out in the mountains. :)

Yes, this campground is right on the road to the reservoir, and the road is busy until after dark on a July weekend evening (but it does get quiet). But it wasn't so busy that a bull moose didn't walk down to the campground at dusk. The river is great and accessible, there is plenty of hiking nearby, and the campers weren't the party crowd that seemed to be going further up the canyon. The campground is super dog friendly, the hosts are just terrific, and it's great for being so close to Bozeman. You can't really expect the full wilderness experience when you're 20 minutes from town and there's a reservoir that's open for recreation 6 miles up the road. Many of the sites are close together (but site 9 has total privacy on one side), and the campground isn't terribly shady, but I was perfectly happy with my stay. Are there nicer campgrounds? Sure, but if your expectations are properly aligned, this place is great!

My party and I were disappointed with our camping experience at Langohr campground. For $32 ($25 for the spot & $7 for second car) the stay didn’t seem worth it. We stayed in spot 17 with no shade to be found, despite the reservation site saying that it was in partial shade. We had a day and a half of swatting off tons of flies, having nowhere cool to sit, and being crammed in next to our neighbors. We were more than ready to go home and even considered taking off early. We are sad we didn’t choose to go some where else, given that money and time to get away in the summer are very limited.

This campground is located in the Hyalite Canyon Reservoir area near Bozeman, MT. There are 3 official campgrounds in addition to several other areas for Boondocking. At the Langohr campground, which will be the first of the 3 official campgrounds, the roads are paved, sites are gravel. From the entrance, you can go left or right for sites. There are only approximately 4 sites that are non-reservable. The non-reservable sites are not the primo sites, but if you are like me and don't usually make reservations, they are still nice. There are several pull-thru sites with the rest being back-in. Some sites sit on the river and others, like site #3 (non-reservable) sit on a hill above the rushing water. There are many hiking trails and the reservoir area is beautiful and fun for a kayak or dog swimming. The Langohr CG has vault toilets and no electric sites. This is a pretty popular area on the weekends and week nights due to it's proximity to Bozeman.
Even though you are close to Bozeman, there will be no cell service or at least no cell service on Verizon
