“Close to the Ferry Terminal”
Reviewed Apr 07, 2017
Right off the bat I have to say that Gibsons, BC in Canada is an amazing place. We highly recommend going there.
That being said taking an RV there can be pricey. The only access is via Ferry and once you get past regular car length they charge you by the foot. Our round trip ferry ticket was just under $250 USD. So I only gave this park 2 stars for access because of the cost to get there. Actually driving to it is a cinch, as soon as you get off the ferry you make a right hand turn onto the main road, go down that for a few miles and it is on your right hand side.
Location is all going to depend on why you are there. This RV park is actually the opposite direction of downtown Gibsons and most of the activities in the area. So it is a little further drive if you are spending most of your time there. But it is in an area that is a bit more remote and a little quieter, so if solitude is your thing then location is probably a +
The spaces are decently wide, and have a think hedge row separating them from their neighbors, which is nice. However there were no trees, so no shade. We were there during an unseasonably hot part of the summer and I would have done anything for a tree.
The road through the park was a bit narrow and is lined with lights, while the lighting was nice it did make it a tad difficult to back in a long rig as just when you had the truck swung out enough to get the right angle, you found yourself backing up into a light pole and had to change your angle a bit.
The people were friendly and the facilities clean. There was a small restaurant on site with daytime hours, with things like sandwiches, but we did not eat there.
There is a small par 3, 9-hole golf course on the property, in fact the RV park overlooks the golf course. You are allowed to play, for free, if you are staying there. We don't golf so I can't comment on the quality of the course.
It was very quiet, which is important to us.
Cell coverage was 4 bars on FIDO (canadian prepaid cellular).
[Actual stay was 7/14/15]
