The further back into the park you drive the more it feels like hippy central, which was kinda fun (and I'm not a hippy). The bathroom is basic, there is water, there is a nice park and tenting area, and there is a nice event pavilion and a stage. It's a very nice park. The only negative is that if you are looking for back country camping, this ain't it. No fire rings and only a few picnic tables. The river is very close and you'll hear that as you go to sleep.

The creek is running high and right outside the door so should be some sweet dreams. Here are the easy direction: from downtown Lander Main St , turn on 5th st headed south, turn on Fremont st heading east, turn back south on city park drive. Drive past the ball fields and don’t worry, there is room to turn around. Fine your spot😃

First obviously this is well know from camping websites based on the number of people in and out. It for sure has that city park feel since your by the picnic area, baseball fields and tennis courts. When you first look around you will probably get that, humm this is a little questionable. Upon arrival go by the office and past the ball fields take a right and it circles around to the camp area, no designated sites, better to get there by 4 pm or it may be tough to fit in. Bathroom is an open park bathroom with metal toilets and a sink. Website says there is water, but there isn’t water for an rv. Just water at the bathroom sink where you can fill a container.
Offset to all this is convenient to town, free for three nights. We had no issues. Would stay again.
Visit the pioneer museum in town, it’s great, full of area history. Sink canyon only 6 miles and South pass area about 30 miles. Gannet grill had great salads and lander brewing was a decent local brew.

There is also a children's playground and baseball field nearby, plus a neighborhood you can walk in or ride your bicycle.
Internet was fine. Can get busy on Saturdays to find a place, as we were lucky to find one with our large setup. Lander Public Works Dump Station is the closest place for a dump, and no potable water at that place. Nice downtown area to walk in and lots of friendly people. Wyoming is a very friendly state!
Highly recommend visit this gem, even if it is a short stay as it is beautiful with plenty of trees, close to town and the freeway.

Great spot as we were coming from Tetons and expecting to have to do the Walmart. We also stopped at the military museum of war vehicles one hour north, A Must See! Also offer free overnight RV parking and free admission to Veterans.

Luckily they had a huge turn-around, so we parked there for the night. We had a pleasant walk in the neighborhood and along the river. It rained ALL night (this was in early May) and I noticed several cars parked by us when we awoke. No worries! We stayed hooked up as we left in the morning with just a 1 night stay. Plan to return as it could accommodate us and our very long setup. Lander has a cute downtown area to explore, and places to hike, plus a dump nearby (we did not use it). Recommend this place if you are on the way to somewhere else as it only has a 3 day stay.

There was some sort of event on Friday that filled the parking lot that blocked us from leaving. There wasn't any posted signage about the event or anything on the city's website.
Overall, it appeared well maintained. AT&T coverage was poor and inconsistent - it varied between 3mbps and 6mbps with a roof mounted Pepwave MIMO antenna. Upload speeds were worse and weren't super usable for video conferencing. TMobile had faster dowoad speed at 30mbps but similarly bad upload at 1mbps. We used Starlink which offered 100mbps/6mbps

We needed water and a city worker helped us obtain water from one of the bath houses in the park. We will definitely stay again when in the area. The city of Lander has all amenities that you might need for your travels. We bought propane at the local hardware store. There is also a city dump, located away from the city park.
