“Relaxing campsite on the lake”

Overall Rating

We stayed in the Four Coves section of the park. Almost every site in that area was right on the lake. It was great to be able to sit by the water and fish right at our campsite. There were lots of ducks and geese in the area to watch. We enjoyed watching the families of ducks swim by and snuggle up together for the night at the edge of our site.

We only had an electric hookup, but the bath house was a short walk for showers at night. There was a playground close by for the kids as well. We could keep an eye on them from our campsite.

I was working remotely while we were there. We had solid AT&T 4G signal, and I had no issues with connectivity, even on my video calls.

The area is absolutely beautiful, and there are plenty of hiking trails that can be accessed from the park. Huntington and Barboursville are about 25 minutes away, if you are looking for dinner or other activities in the area.

The roads into the campground are twisty, curvy, a bit narrow, and with some steep hills (up and down). Take it slow and you will be fine. The roads were well paved, and without potholes.
