Granted our stay was during the last heat wave (110+), but the campground did not match the pictures online. I reserved online (WA State Parks) and the site I selected was based on the pictures shown. Site 8 had plenty of trees to the east, south and west. Once we arrived ALL but one tree had been removed! NO SHADE at all. I would have happily moved to site 7 (more shade), but the camp host was not working the 2 days (Mon/Tues) we stayed. The swimming/boat launch was about 3/4 mile from the campground (drive down). My son (7) and I had a great time swimming and boating. Overall the campground was clean and well maintained. We did not use any of the bathrooms, but I am sure they were taking care of. I would camp here again (different site) when the temps were lower (early or late summer). THIS IS DRY CAMPING ONLY.

There are actually 12 sites and this campground appears to now be a state park. The state park employees are doing numerous renovations. We watched work on a central restroom area and work on the ramadas down at the day use area.
We got to this empty campground later in the day midweek. After 6:00 we were able to pull into the handicapped campsite, number 10, with a ramada and a view of the lake. All sites are large and relatively flat, fire pit and picnic table. Pit toilets were clean, trash service, no dump station. A few sites had a water supply nearby. The campground is situated above the lake on a bluff. There is a trail down to the day use area as well as a paved road.
Although the campground is on the highway, it is far enough away that road noise really was not an issue and this highway is not very busy.
The day use area is heavily used by the locals. There are ramadas, picnic tables, swimming area and boat launch.
FourFeetFourPaws would stay here again
