Very friendly people. Site 77 is completely private with a full view of the lake and you cannot see a single other camper in front of you. Highly recommend it and will give us five stars.

“Home of Raining Acorns and Unfriendly Neighbors”

The acorns continually pelting the top of the camper was a new one on us. Very surprising. Never stopped. The spaces were so small that it took a long time to get our rig in the space because the neighbor would not move his two cars. If you are over about 33 feet, not recommended. We definitely would never return.

I would like to give it 5 stars but can’t because the Wifi is poor to useless and the cable is minimal. That being said, the place is a snapshot of old Florida. Right on the lake with many mature live oak trees. Friendly staff and neighbors.
Sprint service was spotty

Grass and stone site was able to accommodate 40 ft RV, 18 ft bass boat and full size pick up but we were not in the main campground. They have two campgrounds outside the main campground. Location was good, close to Dunnellon, Crystal River, Gulf Beach and Homosassa.

We enjoy the quiet and the large trees hung with moss, Very scenic.

This campground is a bit off the beaten track. It's on the north side of Crystal River so it takes 15 minutes to get to most of the things in town, and about 25 minutes to Homosassa Springs. It is a quiet campground with very friendly residents. Everyone we met were very kind and always sprung up a conversation. A fair number are permanent residents and there are also a large number of trailer homes but they look cared for. Lake Rousseau offered free wifi through tengo, you have to get a coupon for each device. We didn't use their wifi and simply used our hotspot. The signal for AT&T is pretty weak in that area, and Verizon LTE was weak but acceptable. We used our booster for better signal. The sites are gravel, sand, and grass, mostly level with the utilities behind the coach. There are a lot of old trees so many of the sites are fairly shaded. Our site (33) is nice and large, but the one right next to us had almost no camping area. The campground is situated right on Lake Rousseau with a boat launch area. The lake is not dog-friendly (alligators are present) but very pretty to look at. It also had a couple of dog park areas you could use. They have a swimming pool but we didn't use it. This is a good place if you're looking for quiet and perhaps some fishing. It's not a resort and there are not a lot of activities to do. The campground is quiet, pretty, and well-tended but a bit further away from town. We'd stay there again.

This is a nice park. The people who live there, both part-timers and full-time residents, are very friendly and pleasant. I’ve had some wonderful experiences. However, new management took over several years ago and since then, there are constant changes. The park is owned by a consortium but we can only deal with the manager. Everyone is not informed of the changes unless you attend a bi-weekly meeting at 9:30 am, convenient to the people leading the meeting not the participants. I came for the winter every year. At first your deposit was the first month’s rent, then it became your last. I would often leave the deposit to carry over for the next year but this year 2020, it wasn’t to be allowed. The Covid-19 pandemic affected all activities and the present manager told us if we needed to extend our time at the park, he would work with us. I asked to stay 2 weeks longer. The person managing the desk charged me half a month. Shortly after, I decided not to return to the park the following year and asked for my deposit back. He said he’d give it to me June 1st minus $35. But when the time came, he told me I shouldn’t get it back cause I hadn’t used it for the last month and that I should have paid twice what I did for the 2 weeks which was equivalent to a whole month. It left a very sour taste in my mouth. He ended up using my $555 deposit for the extra 2 weeks I used and gave me back what I’d paid for the 2 weeks - $299.50.
