We arrived around 7-8pm and the camp host, Debbie, was a delight! She was helpful, informative, and kind.
The next morning we went to pay for our spot and the gentlemen on staff was also very helpful and kind.
The next day was checkout day, we were told that checkout is at 1, but “we are lenient”... ya know... running on camper time. ;) Well, at 1:07pm we got a knock on our door by a woman on staff that day that said we needed to be gone BEFORE 1p and as she walked off in a rush, she stated abruptly and rather defensively that “there WILL be a late fee!”
We were in the middle of packing up - which takes a minute or so extra with our 8 month old, yet we were out of the site by 1:32p (trust me, we clocked it), so praying there’s no late fee that randomly shows up. I just think there’s a much better way to assert authority without be extremely intrusive and rude.
*Even with all the beauty in the park, that one woman ruined the experience enough for us to say we wouldn’t camp here again. So sad.

Lots of trees but not all sites have shade. Great areas to walk the dog, just make sure they are leashed even if just going to the car. Staff is strict about that.

Add to that the lack of cleaning the bathrooms and the walls and floor over run with mold and mildew makes for an unpleasant experience.
NOT dog friendly. We’ve been traveling to RV parks for 30 years and many all of them have "must keep control of your dogs" in the rules. No issues with that. When our Lab is outside, the camper she is on a 20 foot leash. BUT Here the park ranger will write you a ticket if you do not staying with your dog when it is outside the camper.
And Guest are not allowed to park their car in the campground. They must park outside the park..

Our vehicle registration stickers are in our mailbox in Georgia, and our reservation was not honored even though we had printed evidence that we were legal. Janice, the check in host city employee, even admitted that the Lewisville city police could verify our tags but refused to make the effort to contact the police to do so. We were turned away at the gate. With ultra-poor city employees like Janice on the job, this park is a high risk reservation. I suggest that you look elsewhere. Hidden Cove was nice with great customer service oriented employees.

We arrived around 6pm 12/27/18 with them asking if we had a reservation, we did not. It’s winter, 30 degrees and a brisk wind, who besides me would be camping? Apparently several people! Originally the lady manning the station didn’t think she had room but luckily the ranger was there and said they could find a spot. He took all of my license info from both vehicles plus measurements and the lady took all of the other needed info short of blood type. $8 for senior discount (one of few perks for being old). Great location, fabulous view of the lake. My one complaint and it’s minor. My electric post was shared with my next door neighbor and it was on the front door side directly behind his so my standard length cord didn’t come close to reaching. An adapter and an extension fixed it but now I’m plugged into 20 amp. Like I said minor complaint.

Just sadly not an option for us.

Right off I-35, next to Lewisville Lake. Clean park. Great concrete walking trail around lake. Only negative was sites are very close together. Luckily park was quite. Electric and water at site, but no sewer. Two very nice dump stations though.

The campground was recently upgraded - new paved road, better dump station area, ADA sites and more reliable free WIFI - and still the best value campground in town. Two thumbs up!

This place is full of campsite police. It waaaay to strict. I think they have people hiding in the trees, watching for you to park in wrong spot. Or run over a blade of grass. And heaven forbid you go 1 mile an hour over the speed limit (which is 10mph) Or here they will come on their golf carts getting on your ass. Then you have the whole parking situation. The website says 2 cars per site. They tell you when you get here only 1. The over flow parking is way the hell out side the gate.
And do not. I repeat DO NOT be in the laundry room after 8 pm They will run you out of there, with wet ass clothes. I guess they think someone is gonna walk off with their washing machines and dryers.
Over all it’s a nice park. But always be checking over your shoulder, cause they are always watching. I think they old lady’s in the front, get off by having a little power. I feel they were bullied as a kid, and now taking it out on campers.
And the bathhouse is clean. But I got more sweaty getting dressed, than I was before I went in. Hotter than hell in them.
