“Good fishing”

Great spot if you fish - we don't, but I enjoy watching others. A little pricier than we usually pay, but much less than your average private park which was the only other option we found in this area. Good shade trees - we snagged a spot right by the water edge with a great view of the folks playing with their water toys. I think there was a private resort type place right next to us renting jet skies, etc.Unfortunately the showers were coin, not free and never got hot.Was all we needed.

“Older, but acceptable campground”

We'd wanted to stay in the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Rec Area, but it was full. The park host was kind enough to point us to the Kansas Point portion of this place.

It's not the easiest place to get to if you're looking for easy access from the interstate, but it was reasonable. Clearly, it's an older facility. Sites are fairly level, but it's compacted gravel and some of the sites are pretty short. Power was good. Water was only in a couple of spots, so bring a long hose or have plenty when you arrive. The park map shows two toilet houses, but there's only one. No showers. They claim there's a dump station. I never saw it.

So this is great for a day or two, but not really good for long term camping.

Some great sites on the water. We didn't get one. Signage could be a lot better.

UPDATE: Stayed again in July 2018. Managed to get a waterside site. Met some really nice local people out there for the fishing. Not much else has changed.
