Dump station and iron-tasting potable water near entrance. Sites are private. Our site 10 was a pull-through site and was close to the front of the park, seemingly even more private sites are in the far rear of the campground. Firm 3:00pm check-in noted in reservation “This is the earliest you can arrive.” Price for one night with an electrical hook-up was $34.96.
AT&T cell service was two bars and pathetically slow except for in the early morning hours, and I mean early. Fairly decent stopover campground on the way to Hibbing, Minnesota and the childhood home of all-around icon Bob Dylan.

Very quiet during our midweek stay. Our reserved spot, #14, was not level and wouldn't work for us. The park manager, Bobby, was very helpful in helping us find a better one. Site 5 was great - a level pull-through. He mentioned that the bath house will be replaced with an all new facility this fall (2021). Nice park, close to swim be... more

This county campground has nice wooded spots. It’s quiet and has really nice fire pits. Electric at most sites. No sewer hook ups but they do have a dump station. No water hookups but several water stations to get water at. Our site, 11, was right on the end. Pull through site. Plenty of room for our 37 foot travel trailer. The water station was right next to our site. Even though we put water in our fresh water tank we did fill up from the water station We connected our hose and ran for about 20 minutes. Gravel roads and sites, pretty level sites The campground is across the road from a county park with a nice beach, picnic and playground area. Great fishing lake, crappies, bass, walleye, northern etc. Active recreation on the lake as well. There are a couple boat landings close to the campground. Campground office sells ice, firewood and ice cream. Great walking trails all around the lake. About 3 miles outside Paynesville MN. Small town with a few gas stations, a decent sized grocery store, dollar store and a DQ.
