We stayed 1 night on our way south 1/31/24. Great place. Had it all to ourselves. Could see where this could be a very active place in the summer. Houses on the water all around the lake. This time of year was quiet and peaceful. Just a few fisherman going in and out. If ever this way, we will stay again.
PaulFa would stay here again

CALL TO GET THE GATE CODE BEFORE ARRIVING! We neglected to read that a previous reviewer noted that. Oops. We made reservations online and the resulting email never said anything about getting a gate code. Fortunately, the camp host just happened to be nearby and gave it to us. If the camp host isn't around, there is a phone number on the gate to call.
The campground is small with 15 RV sites with 50 amp electric (some with screened in shelters), 7 tents sites with 30 amp electric, and and 5 shelter only sites. I've uploaded a map of the campground, since it's very hard to find online. If it is too hard to read, you can find the map at https://www.jacksonvilletx.org/DocumentCenter/View/153/Lake-Jacksonville-Campgrounds-Map-PDF
Scope out your approach to your site before progressing down the road. If you have a big rig, you might want to back down the short road. There is a turn around at the end of the road, but big rigs may find it too small. We had to utilize one of the empty campsites in addition to the turn around to get pointed in the right direction to back into our site.
The RV pads are concrete and have concrete patios with picnic tables and charcoal grills. The rest is all grass. Our 40 foot RV fit on site 4 fine, but we did have the back end of the RV hanging off the pad.
Getting to the campground may seem dicey, but really it isn't. Our rig is over 13' tall and we didn't hit any trees.
The only downside is cellular service. Both Verizon and ATT had one or two bars. Voice calls worked fine. Data could be problematic.
Over the air television had 16 channels. Of the major networks, you had CBS, NBC and FOX.
Our stay during the week before Memorial Day was nice and quiet. We saw numerous birds (herons and ducks) strolling through the campsite. I have a feeling that on the weekend things could get noisy with all the water craft zooming around the lake. Still, it's a great little park. We enjoyed our stay.

We made a reservation here after other plans fell through. What a blessing. This is an absolute GEM. The campground is located on a penimsula in Jacksonville Lake. Awesome water views from every site. Only 30 amp elec. water at every site. Electric gate with keypad code to enter, so call ahead for the code. Nice to have for security though. Beautiful sunset views. Bathrooms, with showers are very basic, but theynserve the purpose.
Very nice swimming beach and park connected to camping area. Convenient to town. We are the only ones here and decided to stay for 3 more days. So quiet and parked right next to a beautiful lake. Why move!?
Jay R Grooters would stay here again
