The road in wasn’t bad at all; however, it did rain 2 days while we were here and the ground became very heavy mud that sticks to everything. It only took about a day to dry so had no problems leaving. There’s not much around and is a very small town. T-Mobile, Verizon, and attt was all good. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a great place to just kick back.
Only a couple other campers.
Was greeted by cows upon arrival, but they did not show up on the following days.
Nothing to do, except watch beautiful sunsets & sunrises.
There are roads for good long walks.

I arrived around 4:30 pm and there was no one so I went over towards the boat ramp to camp. Overall it’s clean but the fire rings are the bottle collection sites.
The coyotes are in the neighborhood, along with cattle and horses.
Good spot for an overnight or a few days.

Be careful about getting close to the water line you may get stuck if you drive a big vehicle. ( even though the ground is so dry it’s cracked) the water is super warm too.
Pictures made it look like there was at least a few shady spots, but there were none. The biting flies are immune to bug spray and candles.
Watch out for the uneven ground and random pot holes. Stepped out of my van and now I can’t walk.
This place is pretty if you have a camper with AC. Otherwise no bueno the biting flies, dropping my van into unknowingly soft dirt and then injuring myself. I won’t be going back.

After spending the last couple of months in the East in campgrounds, it was nice to “return to our roots” by boondocking!
There’s absolutely nothing around here but a liquor store and a weed store. Oh and well, the big cow ops located a mile away. Lucky for us to wind stayed blowing in the opposite direction , saving us from a nose full of tiny cow particles.
Access was really easy in our 34ft motorhome, and there’s quite a few spots to park. It stayed fairly busy with day users, and only two other campers showed up in the week that we were here.
There’s a lot of trash though, unfortunately a common occurrence on America’s public lands. We filled a trash bag and picked up a couple handfuls of nails, but aside from that it was a great spot!
The sunsets here were some of the most amazing that I’ve ever seen in all my life. Truly spectacular.
Nearest town is Ordway. Small gas station there, but no dump or water for miles. Solid internet, enough to stream and work for the week.
P.S - There was this lady who came two nights in a row and parked and was just out screaming profanities at the world, talking to herself, and overall just causing a ruckus. But hey, it's 2020 so that kind of thing is expected.

This was nice little lake where we had a great time. Easy to get in and out of. Not too crowded at all.

While staying at nearby Lake Meredith I did a bit of recon for next year. When you drive in you will cross a cattle guard and find that cows free range around this lake. The road is good and firm but washboard. There is a vault toilet that has most of its roof missing. Didn’t check out the inside but I’d plan to be self contained. Driving to the right there is a pullout that could fit a couple of large RV,s but you would have to blackout as the grade on the other end is steep with a drastic hump. Further down the same direction are a couple of other spots that would accommodate big rigs without needing to back out. There was a 5th wheel there and room for more. Boat ramp is in same direction.
If you go left at the toilet, there are 2 roads- the one that is closest to the lake only goes about 50 yards and the it has eroded into the lake. The other road will take you to the damn and there are a couple of spots with fire rings that would be more secluded.
It is near the cattle feed lot so there may be an odor issue t times.
