Great campsites with great rates. Absolutely love this campground only complaint would be to have showers for those who don’t have an rv. If you have a rv it is great because they come to your site and pump your tanks for you.

While the lake has much to offer it is also situated inside Ottawa National Forest and is better maintained than the Forest Service campsites. No showers, two restrooms one with running water. Water and Electric to sites and a honey bucket or dump station for sewage. Although few sites are designated pull through the layout makes parking easy. Sites are gravel and very level, many accommodate up to a 40 foot camper. Manager of site very helpful and seems concerned about the condition of the park and it shows in the condition of the place. You can reserve a site for the whole season (mid May to September 30) the month or day. The closeness of the sites to each other make privacy an issue, many water connections are shared so distance to water can be a problem (I had to buy a second hose to reach mine) and no sewer to sites, but other than that it would have gotten 5 stars. I was there at the end of the season and although many of the sites were occupied it was quiet.

For $25, this was pushing 5 stars. Shared water connections. For most sites, this wasn't an issue. But for mine, it was two sites away. No sewer hookups, but the dump station was very nice and had both black rinse hookup and a separate, clearly marked, potable water hookup. I still wouldn't use that potable water hookup!
My 15-year old came back from going to the restrooms with saying that she won't go in there! They are mostly vault toilets, but I must have sheltered my child as they were the most clean and nice smelling vault toilets I've ever seen!
The dock and swimming area was pretty neat. But, the dock was covered in sea gull crap and most of the swimming area was full of hydrilla.
There is a boat launch here. It seemed that the vast majority of campers were there to boat and fish. Several of the sites had nice water views.
ZERO cell reception for T-Mobile. We had to drive 15 minutes to get any reception.
I know this doesn't read like a 4-star review, but it was really beautiful and peaceful here. The sites are well spaced, and having the lake near was nice. The hills made it feel like you were at a very small campground with privacy. The facilities are clean and well kept.
Porcupine Mountain State Park is a must visit! We drove up there on a whim and loved it so much that we went back the next day. So many hikes and beautiful waterfalls! There are nice beaches on Lake Superior in that area as well...we spent 5 hours at one just relaxing. It's a bit of a haul to get there though (an hour I think).
We hated to leave this place and hope we get to visit again soon.

A small beach and small boat launch, large picnic shelter, bathhouses with 30/50 amp service at most sites for RV/s. Friendly staff and guests, a good number of transient spots that are very nice, not just leftovers from seasonal selections.
This was a great spot for a last night of a six week trip. A C/G that looked like one and not a fiberglass parking lot. This would be a good place for a vacation and ai say the after arriving there on Friday evening of 7/7 and all the craziness associated with the FOURTH of July.
Little cell or wifi connectivity.
