Camped 10/15/20 (Thur), electric & water site. No entrance fee to the state park; $23 price does not include taxes. I gave this a 3 overall rating because of the location of the campsites, the boater traffic and highway noise. It seems like they stuck in campsites later, as an afterthought. While the park is pretty and well kept, the main recreation here is fishing and boating. The brochure mentions it as one of the hottest fishing spots in Arkansas, and the lake is stocked by the Game & Fish Commission.
Campsites are along the road to the boat launch, and the traffic going to the launch is regular. There are 4 sites with electric and water, and 3 tent sites. All sites have table, grill, fire ring and a lantern hanger. Some have tent pads. You can go to Crowley's Ridge (6 miles away) for showers and the dump station. The park has flush toilets, but they're on the other side of the park, by the boat rentals, fishing dock, picnic area and playground. I wondered why they hadn't put the campground in that area instead. However, there is a very clean vault toilet by the campsites and boat launch.
Sites are good-sized, level, shaded, but not private. The two at the end (sites 6 & 7), face the big parking lot for the boaters, and are more private.
Visitor Center has fishing tackle & licenses, supplies, firewood, ice and other supplies. Jonesboro is 10 miles south.
