Very nice park. Two campgrounds, one on the north and one on the south side of the lake. Direct access to the Tomorrow River rail-trail. Good lake for kayaks and has a boat ramp for easy access. Nice sand beach. Loved the trains that go by several times a day (very romantic).
Bring cash, no out of state checks accepted.

This is a great example of a well maintained county campground. Both the north and south campgrounds have clean, generous sites. Most of the sites we saw were 20/30/50, but you may want to double check because some sites may only be 20/30 for electrical service. Three clean and well maintained bath houses, two in the north campground, and one in the south.
North campground has the beach, a nice playground, ball diamond, and a shelter building available for rent. So if you have kids, definitely pick the north campground.
South campground is much smaller, quieter, but several sites are right on the water. This is the one to pick for couples who value view over amenities and like it to be a bit quieter.
Both the north and south campgrounds have one dump station lane each. That can get a little cramped, especially on a Sunday. The park does a nice job of placing dumpsters in many different locations, so it’s never far to find one. The park rangers are also very visible, even at night. They take their job seriously about enforcing speed limits, excessive noise, and quiet hours, which is nice.
The couple of quirks: this is near Hwy 10, a very busy thoroughfare in central Wisconsin, so there will be some traffic noise. The worst noise though is the train. This campground is right on a heavily used freight rail line, and trains use their warning horns when approaching the crossing by the campground, both day AND night. Expect a train horn at 2am at least once during your stay.
Despite those two things, this is a nice county campground, and Portage County should be proud of their facility. 10 minutes from Stevens Point, 30 minutes from Wausau, and appx one hour each from Appleton, Green Bay, or Oshkosh. We will be back :)

I've been camping at Lake Emily for years. They do a good job of keeping the place clean. In the summer the lake is a great swimming and fishing spot.
