This place is wonderful in many ways! The sites are beautiful and the lake is large and beautiful hosting blue heron and other water fowl. There are plenty of fishermen that come out during the day. The one thing that we underestimated was the pump jack that is just across the lake. If you do not have an exhaust fan in your rig this noise WILL keep you up at night. We were so happy to find this pleasant little gem in the heart of Texas.

My husband and I are just beginning our travel adventures together and are striving for campouts that remove us from the crowds. We found this little gem between Cisco and Breckenridge, TX when returning from a riverside adventure at Rochelle's Canoe Rentals. Lake Daniel has just a few campsites, all are dirt, some have picnic tables and grills, no public restroom (there was a cleanish portapotty), no access to power or water, but a strong cell signal. The lake was gorgeous, water was crowded with fish, and the night skies full of stars; we wish we had brought kayaks to explore the lake. While there weren't any crowds there was an active oil well across the lake that popped ALL the time, constantly, but thanks to the cell signal I was able to run a white noise app on my phone to drown out the sound so we could sleep. Hiking is non-existent unless you're willing to chance crossing city marked fence lines. We would camp here again; we had a wonderful time. (Breckenridge is close by with stores and restaurants, as well as the larger Lake Hubbard)
