We are looking to camp (5th Wheel) and ride OHV (Ranger) in mid March. Would this area be accessible then?

It's a narrow and very twisted road UP to the Lake Canyon Rec Area from Fairview, but we knew that before we started. We'd tried to access the area the third week of May but the road was closed and the gates locked because of snow that hadn't melted yet. Since there was a geocache down this road that I HAD to have, we routed back through here on our return from the northwest. Sites are widely dispersed over several miles of road. You must use a numbered site. Roads are gravel and sometimes steep, but we were seeing lots of large 5th wheels and toy haulers even as far as 12 miles in from the highway. The roads are graded but do have some washboarding, especially on the steeper sections. There are two more Rec Areas south of the Lake Canyon area on the Miller Flat Rd (Miller Reservoir and Potters Pond) that operate in a similar manner.
Price is $15 per site per day with a 50% discount for seniors and some other categories. There is no water, sewer, or garbage service. Haul it in, Haul it out! It looked like there was a dump station at the Chevron at the corner of Highway 31 and Highway 89 in Fairview.
Expect lots of dust and lots of ATV traffic and lots of beautiful country. We spotted 10 deer when we drove down to Potters Pond the second morning. We had absolutely no connectivity on any of our devices - Verizon, ATT, TMobile - nada!
We stayed in site number 2 which was close to the entrance. Neat spot tucked under the trees but as a result we had the ability to count how many rigs moved in and out each day. I noticed some others were parking at the highway (large parking lot) and then using a toad or ATV to scout out which sites were available.
This one scores fairly high for me because it's the stuff we like - YMMV.
John & BJ would stay here again
